Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a failure in side erasing with respect to all radiuses by providing a recording and reproducing head chip in tae fixed end and providing a side erasing head chip in a moving piece end. CONSTITUTION:The recording and reproducing head chip is provided in the fixed end of a head base 20 whose one end is the fixed end and the other is the moving end, and the side erasing head chip is provided in the moving end. They are finished to the same spherical surface initially, and the side erasing head chip is displaced to a desired position thereafter. Thus, side erasing of recording and reproducing tracks is performed surely to prevent a failure in erasing even if tracks on a disc-shaped recording medium are different in radius, and a wider track width is attained for the same track density and S/N of signals is improved.

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 産業上の利用分野 本発明は、磁気記録再生装置に用いる磁気ヘッドに関す
るもので、特に円盤状媒体にディジタル信号を記録再生
する磁気ヘッドに関するものである。

従来の技術 近年磁気記録の進歩はめざましく、特にデータ情報を円
盤状の媒体に記録再生する装置、例えばアルミ盤上に磁
性体を塗布した、いわゆるハードディスク、又PET上
に磁性体を塗布したいわゆるフロッピーディスの進歩が
めざましく、高記録密度化へと進んでいる。これらの技
術は例えばフロッピーディスクドライブに・ついては雑
誌インターフェイス1ssaMAY特集号などで知られ
る0更に高密度化として、より小さな円盤に、よシ多数
の記録トラックを書き込むことが検討されている。トラ
ック密度を向上させた時に問題となるのが、互換性又は
耐候性の点で、記録したトラック上に、磁気ヘッドが再
生時に正確に位置するかどうかが問題となる。通常はト
ラッキング精度はどうしても“0”にすることができな
いため、記録時その直後に記録トラック幅の側面を少し
消去(サイトレース)して、記録パターン幅と、再生ト
ラック幅を違えることにより、ヘッドが正確にトラッキ
ングしなくても、以前に書かれたデータに重ね書きをし
ても、消し残シの不都合がないように対策している。

は、第10図に示すように、記録パターン幅3に対し、
ギャップ間隔6により、サイトイレス幅4と消し残り幅
6が生ずる。第9図に示したタイプのヘッドでギャップ
間隔6を考慮して内周側に消去ヘッドギャップを移動さ
せても、各トラック位置により円周が異なるため、すべ
てのトラックに対し追従するのは不可能である。このた
めサイトレース幅を増やし残留トラック幅を狭くせざる
を得なかった0本発明は以上のような従来の欠点を除去
するものであり、サイド消去が完全に行え、かつ製作が
容易な磁気ヘッドを提供することを目的とするものであ
る。

を得ることができ、信号のS/Nが向上する。

実施例 本発明を実施例を用いて説明すると、第2図に示すセン
ダストブロックA11.B12のギャップ面を平坦に研
摩し、第3図に示すように、ギャップスペーサ13を介
しパックギャップ部を銀ろう薄14を用い、760Qで
熱処理を行いギャップ形成を行った。その後第4図に示
すように所望のトラック幅16にスライスして、コアチ
ップ16を作った。この時のコアチップは、第6図に示
すように記録・再生用のコアテップ16が、トラック幅
が60μmで、ギャップスペーサは0.4μm厚であり
、サイド消去用コアチップ19はトラック幅が30μm
で、ギャップスペーサは、6μmであった。また、これ
らのコアチップ16を保持する固定枠18は、後はどの
巻線のための巻線窓17を開部とした凹形の形状をして
いる。次に第6図に示すように分割溝22を設けて固定
端と可動端を有するヘッドベース20を用量する。これ
には、片側の可動端のヘッド接着面に圧電セラミクス2
1を付着させている。そして第7図に示すようにこの圧
電セラミクス21の付いている面にサイトイレース用の
コアブロックを接着し、他の固定端に記録・再生用のコ
アブロックを接着する。

ッチがかわらないように、ヘッド前面を略球面加工をし
た。

微調することができたためである。

去の消し残シを生ずることなく、シかもヘッドの加工精
度が比較的ラフであっても十分のサイド消去形磁気ヘッ
ドを構成することができた。
