DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a method for transferring an arbitrary pattern to an uneven object having a curved surface, grooves, or protrusions on the surface.

Conventionally, one method of transferring a pattern to the surface of an object with unevenness is to print a pattern on a thin film, float the thin film on a liquid with the printed side facing up, and then transfer the pattern onto the surface of the object. A method is known in which the pattern is transferred to the surface of an object by the hydraulic pressure of a liquid by pressing, and then the thin film is removed from the surface of the object.

However, for this method, it is desirable for the thin film to have good swelling properties, i.e., expandability, like a wafer, and to have high flexibility and softening properties. Since it is required to adhere tightly to uneven surfaces while being stretched and developed, if a thin film with such characteristics is floated on the water surface and transferred, the pattern printed on it will be significantly enlarged and deformed before transfer. The pattern printed on the surface of the thin film cannot be transferred onto the object. Furthermore, since the thin film prevents the transfer of the printed pattern onto the finely uneven surface of the object, it is virtually impossible to transfer the printed pattern onto the complex uneven surface, and after transferring the printed pattern, the thin film may be physically or Must be removed by chemical means. There were drawbacks such as an increase in the number of steps.

The present invention aims to solve the above-mentioned drawbacks of the conventional methods and provide a method for easily transferring any pattern on a transfer sheet to the surface of an uneven object having an arbitrary shape. A transfer sheet comprising a water-soluble resin layer, a protective layer, and an adhesive layer sequentially formed on one side of the water is floated on the water surface with the adhesive layer side facing up,
Immediately after the water-soluble paper and water-soluble resin layer constituting the transfer sheet are dissolved, an active solvent is applied to the adhesive layer to impart transfer properties such as adhesiveness and spreadability to the adhesive layer. The object to be transferred is pressed from above the adhesive layer, part or all of it is submerged in water, and the transfer layer consisting of the adhesive layer and the protective layer in the transfer sheet is applied onto the surface of the object by water pressure. This is a transfer method characterized by transfer and adhesion.

FIG. 1 shows a transfer sheet used in the present invention, which is formed by sequentially forming a water-soluble resin layer 3, a protective layer 4, a pattern adhesive layer 5, and, if necessary, a surface adhesive layer 6 on one side of a water-soluble paper 2. FIG. 1 is an explanatory diagram showing 1. The water-soluble paper 2 is obtained by mixing a water-soluble pulp and a water-insoluble pulp. Water-soluble paper made only of water-soluble pulp has drawbacks such as shrinkage of the transfer sheet 1 due to the difference in water content and a decrease in paper strength in a moisture-absorbing state.

Poval fibers, methylcellulose fibers, etc. can be used as water-soluble pulps, and wood pulps, olefin-based synthetic pulps, etc. can be used as water-insoluble pulps. Water-soluble resin layer 3 contains starch, sodium alginate, dextrin, glue, gelatin, viscose, methylcellulose, ethylcellulose,
Poval or the like is applied thinly and uniformly onto one side of the water-soluble paper 2 using a gravure roll or the like. If the protective layer 4 described later is directly provided on the water-soluble paper 2 without providing this water-soluble resin layer 2, the resin forming the protective layer 4 will dig into the water-soluble paper 2.
The water-insoluble pulp of the water-soluble paper 2 remains attached to the protective layer 4 and is transferred to the transfer object, resulting in incomplete transfer. The protective layer 4 is
The transfer layer 7 consisting of the protective layer 4 and the adhesive layer 11 that constitute a part of the transfer sheet 1 plays a role of protecting the adhesive layer 11 when it is transferred onto the surface of the object to be transferred, and further protects the pattern adhesive layer 5 during the transfer. Reverse coating with transparent synthetic resin paint (ink) or colored semi-transparent synthetic resin paint (ink) with excellent flexibility and abrasion resistance such as acrylic, urethane, or synthetic rubber type. It is formed using a general coating method such as natural coating or flow coating method or printing method so as not to generate pinholes.

The pattern adhering layer 5 is formed by gravure printing using a non-cellulose synthetic resin binder ink or paint such as synthetic rubber, vinyl chloride, or acrylic on the protective layer 4.
It may be formed by an offset printing method, a silk printing method, or any other conventionally known printing method. The paint or ink used to form the pattern sticking layer 5 can be arbitrarily selected as long as it is insoluble in water.

The surface adhesive layer 6 is provided on the pattern adhesive layer 5 as necessary so that the transfer layer 7 is more firmly adhered to the object to be transferred during transfer. In order to improve the adhesion of the transfer layer 7 to the object to be transferred, use an ink or resin paint that does not contain pigments and is the same as or of the same type as the binder in the ink or paint used when forming the pattern adhesion layer 5. It is best to form by printing or coating.

First, as shown in FIG. 2, the transfer sheet 1 is floated on the surface of water 8 with its adhesive layer 11 facing upward. Then, the water-soluble paper 2 swells by soaking in water, and the water-soluble paper 2 becomes jelly-like. When the water-soluble paper 2 becomes jelly-like, as shown in FIG. The same or a part of the solvent used in the ink or paint used in forming the adhesive layer 6 is applied. Then, the adhesive layer 11 is activated, and the adhesive layer 11 exhibits transfer characteristics such as adhesiveness and spreadability. At this time, the water-soluble paper and the water-soluble resin layer are dissolved in water and are in a swollen state, but due to the presence of water-insoluble pulp in the water-soluble paper, no deformation occurs, and therefore the pattern of the adhesive layer remains unchanged. maintains the printed pattern without being subjected to enlargement and deformation.
Then, as shown in FIG. 4, when the transfer object 9 is pressed from above the adhesive layer 11 and part or all of it is submerged in water, the transfer layer 7 is covered by the water pressure. It comes to firmly adhere to the surface of the transfer body 9. Since the water-insoluble pulp only has enough strength to retain the pattern, the water-soluble paper and water-soluble resin layer can be easily spread by the pressure of the transfer target.
It functions to make the adhesive layer follow the surface of the object to be transferred.
After the transfer is completed, the object to be transferred 9 is pulled out of the water and dried, resulting in a transferred object 10 as shown in FIG. 5 in which an arbitrary pattern on the transfer sheet 1 is transferred to the surface of the object to be transferred 9 having an uneven shape. . The transferred object 9 used here is mainly a three-dimensional object with an uneven surface such as wood, metal, plastic, or other molded objects, but is of course not limited to this. It may also include three-dimensional objects or flat plates made of smooth materials.

The present invention has been described above using an example using the transfer sheet 1 having the adhesive layer 11 consisting of two layers, the surface adhesive layer 6 and the pattern adhesive layer 5, but the present invention is not limited thereto. The adhesive layer of the transfer sheet that can be used may be a single pattern adhesive layer or three or more layers.

Since the base material of the transfer sheet is provided with a protective layer, the surface of the transferred pattern on the transfer material onto which an arbitrary pattern has been transferred is covered with the protective layer, and there is no need to provide a surface protective layer or the like later.

Since the base material of the transfer sheet is water-soluble water-soluble paper, this water-soluble paper becomes jelly-like and disperses in the water by the time the transfer is completed, which eliminates the need for a transfer sheet peeling process after transfer, and at the same time makes it easy to use. Due to the presence of water-soluble pulp, shrinkage of the transfer sheet during transfer and decrease in strength of water-soluble paper in a moisture-absorbing state can be suppressed as much as possible, making it possible to perform accurate transfer.
