Claims

[Scope of utility model registration request]

a shield case with a window on the front; a magnetic core that is housed inside the shield case and exposes at least a magnetic gap in the window; and a magnetic core that is fixed to the outside of the shield case to regulate the position of the magnetic tape. In a magnetic head equipped with a tape guide, a convex portion extending in a direction substantially perpendicular to a tape running direction is formed by a portion exposed to the window portion and a portion of the shield case adjacent to the window portion connected to the exposed portion. A protective member is provided at a position sandwiching the convex portion in the tape running direction and comes into contact with the magnetic tape and has a small friction coefficient on the contact surface, and a gap is provided between the protective member and the convex portion. A magnetic head characterized by:
