The present invention relates to a pest repellent containing 1,8-cineole as an active ingredient. Various insects cause harm to plants, but among them, longhorn beetles cause damage to fruit trees such as grapes and mandarin oranges, trees such as pines and cedar, and mulberry trees.
It is a pest that causes great damage to agriculture, forestry, and silkworm industry. The main types of damage caused by longhorn beetles are the longhorn beetles on grapes, the mulberry longhorn beetles on mulberries, and
The larvae damage the xylem, such as the Japanese longhorn beetles and the Japanese cedar longhorn beetles, but there are also cases, such as the pine beetles, in which the adults transmit pathogens during their afterfeeding. Methods for controlling longhorn beetles include adult control methods aimed at preventing after-feeding or egg-laying, and larval control methods aimed at preventing damage. Insecticide emulsions and wettable powders are used, and the latter are mixed insecticide emulsions or oils that are a mixture of fenitrothion (MEP), fenthioate (PAP), fenthion (MPP), and ethylene bromide (EDB). However, there are many problems in using such pesticides effectively. In other words, in order to control adult insects, pesticides must be sprayed over a wide area at once, and for longhorn beetles, the adult generation period is 1 to 10 minutes.
Because it lasts for three months, pesticides must be sprayed several times during that time. Spraying pesticides over a wide area and many times in this manner may cause environmental pollution due to residual pesticides and disturbance of biota including natural enemies. In addition, spraying liquid with a high agricultural concentration 10 to 100 times higher than usual is used to control larvae, so there are many cases of poisoning among sprayers. Therefore, the present inventors conducted intensive research to provide a pest control method that can avoid such problems.
Compounds used as fragrances such as eugenol, geraniol, anethole, and phenylethyl butyrate have an attractive effect on adult longhorn beetles, but surprisingly, 1,8-cineole has a strong repellent effect. The present invention was completed based on the discovery that the present invention controls the behavior of adult longhorn beetles and exhibits remarkable effects on preventing afterfeeding and spawning. 1,8- which is the active ingredient of the pest repellent of the present invention
Cineole exists widely in the natural plant world, and is contained in large amounts in the essential oils of plants of the Myrtaceae and Lauraceae families. In particular, it is the main component of eucalyptus oil, and is easily separated from it by distillation or the like. It is a colorless oily liquid with a mustard odor and a pungent taste. The repellent of the present invention can be composed of 1,8-cineole alone, but depending on the purpose,
Dissolve 1,8-cineole in a suitable solvent, or
Or adsorbed or mixed on a suitable solid carrier,
Furthermore, if necessary, auxiliary agents such as surfactants and dispersants may be added to form dosage forms such as oils, emulsions, wettable powders, powders, sprays, and aerosols. Solvents used in the above formulation include alcohols such as ethyl alcohol and propylene glycol, ketones such as acetone and methyl ethyl ketone, aliphatic hydrocarbons such as hexane and petroleum benzene, and aromatic hydrocarbons such as benzene and xylene. etc. are appropriate. As the solid carrier, wood flour, activated carbon, kaolin, bentonite, acid clay, talc, alumina, etc. are used. As emulsifiers and dispersants, polyoxyethylene alkyl ether,
In addition to polyoxyethylene alkyl allyl ether, polyoxyethylene fatty acid ester, fatty acid monoglyceride, fatty acid glycol ester, sorbitan fatty acid ester, polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid ester, castor oil sulfate, vegetable natural resins such as casein and gum arabic, etc. Can be used widely. To control longhorn beetles using the repellent of the present invention, place the odor of 1,8-cineole around the fruit trees, trees, etc. to be protected;
It repels longhorn beetles that fly in to eat and lay eggs. The specific method is to impregnate 1,8-cineole itself or a solution diluted with an appropriate solvent into a carrier such as fiberboard, roll cotton, or absorbent cotton, or to enclose it in a container with appropriate holes. Arrange them appropriately around the fruit trees and trees you want to protect, and gradually spread the 1,8-
There is a method to volatilize the smell of cineole, or a method to spray liquid, powder, or granular material around fruit trees and trees, or in some cases directly on the fruit trees and trees, depending on the implementation situation. Illustrated. The repellent of the present invention can also be used in combination with other longhorn beetle control agents. Next, the present invention will be explained in detail using Examples and Test Examples. Example 1 A repellent-impregnated fiberboard was prepared by impregnating 25 g of 1,8-cineole into a fiberboard measuring 6cm long, 6cm wide and 1cm thick. Example 2 8 g of a mixture of 1,8-cineole and rapeseed oil in a weight ratio of 1:1 was added to a tube with a diameter of 1 cm and a length of 10 cm.
The repellent-impregnated rolls were made by impregnating them with the repellent. Example 3 50 parts of 1,8-cineole, "Himar 362H" (manufactured by Matsumoto Yushi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) as an emulsifier 5
A repellent emulsion was prepared by mixing and stirring 45 parts of liquid paraffin and 45 parts of liquid paraffin. Test Example 1 The 1,8-cineole-impregnated fiberboard obtained in Example 1 was placed in a pine forest at a rate of 3 ml per pine tree.
The suspension was hung at a height of 2 to 4 m, and the effect of preventing afterfeeding on adult beetles was tested. One month after the treatment, the number of afterfeeding sites and the length of afterfeeding in the new shoots of five red pine trees from each test plot were investigated, and the results shown in Table 1 below were obtained.

Test Example 2 The 1,8-cineole-impregnated roll cotton obtained in Example 2 was hung near the base of a mulberry plant at a ratio of 2 per mulberry plant, and the effect of repelling adult longhorn beetles and preventing spawning was observed. was tested. 10 days after the treatment, five mulberry plants were extracted from one treatment area and the number of egg-laying locations of the long-eared longhorn beetles was investigated, and the results shown in Table 2 below were obtained.

The above table shows that the 1,8-cineole-impregnated roll cotton has a strong repellent effect on the yellow-crowned beetle, and a remarkable effect of preventing egg-laying was observed. Test Example 3 The 1,8-cineole emulsion obtained in Example 3 was diluted 5 times with water and sprayed on the main trunk of mandarin oranges to examine its repellent effect on adult longhorn beetles and the effect of preventing spawning. . After preparing the emulsion and spraying it on the main stems of mandarin oranges, we investigated the number of adult beetles living in the test plot and the number of spawning sites for each of the five mandarin oranges in the test plot 10 days later.The results are shown in Table 3 below. I got it.
