Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve economy by moving forth and back a carriage which mounts an optical system converging light from a light emitting element on the center of a photosensitive drum in parallel to the rotating shaft of a photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:The light emitting element 5 of a recording array head 4 is turned on selectively according to an image signal and its projection light is incident on a convex lens 8 through a rod lens array 7; and incident light is converged on the center of the drum shaft 2 of the photosensitive drum 1 through a lens 8 to illuminates the drum 1 in the direction of the normal line on its curved surface. Consequently, the part of the drum 1 irradiated with the light is discharged electrostatically and an electrostatic latent image is formed. Then, the head 4 is moved in parallel to the shaft 2 of the drum 1 to form plural arrays of electrostatic latent images on the drum 1 and perform serial records, which are developed 11. Further, recording paper 12 is conveyed from a paper feed cassette 13 by a feed roller 13 in synchronism with the dust figure on the drum 1, the image is transferred by a transfer device 15 and fixed thermally by a fixing device 16, and the recording paper is discharged 17.

The problem that the invention aims to solve
In such conventional optical printers, the light emitting elements of the recording array head are provided across the width of the recording paper, and therefore a large number of light emitting elements are required. In addition, the variation in light intensity of each light emitting element is ±2
If the number of light emitting elements is not kept below 0%, the recording quality will deteriorate, but if the number of light emitting elements is large, the yield will also decrease, and since the recording array head is extremely expensive, it is not possible to realize a low-cost optical printer. It had the following drawbacks.

In addition, since the pitch of the light emitting part of the light emitting element is reduced by the optical system, the pitch of the image forming point on the photoreceptor drum is reduced, so the pitch of the light emitting part of the light emitting element cannot be made much smaller. Even without it, you can increase the resolution.
