Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate labor required for classifying and selecting copies into an ordinary copy and other than the ordinary by discharging copies automatically into each of discrete discharging trays while they are classified into a copy of either an ordinary subject copy or recording of information from computers or facsimiles. CONSTITUTION:At a position which does not interfere the conveyance of a recording chart P near discharge rollers 13 and 13 in a form of the teeth of a comb, a discharge stacker change-over lever 16 for changing the conveying direction of the recording chart is provided while it can be swung. When an electromagnetic solenoid is energized, the change-over lever 16 is moved downward with fulcrum at an axis 17 and is swung as shown by a solid line so that the chart can be discharged to an upper tray. When the solenoid is de- energized, the lever is swung as shown by a dot-dash line 16' by spring (18) force so that the chart can be discharged to a lower tray. That is, a control section judges the kind of a copy to be made: a subject copy or information on output from facsimiles or computers, and allows the solenoid 19 to be energized or de-energized so as to automatically discharge a hard copy selectively to either the upper tray 14 or the lower tray 15.

<Prior art> In addition to conventional digital copiers with multiple signal input sources, which have the ability to make copies of normal originals, they also create electrostatic latent images with patterns corresponding to digital signals, similar to laser glitters. Copiers that double as copying machines and are easy to operate and have additional functions for visualization are used.As is well known, digital copiers read the text and pictures of a document using an optical system, convert them into digital signals, and then convert them into digital signals. The method is to send the image to a printing mechanism, convert it into an image, and copy it. Therefore, it is widely used for external communications and for copying, such as facsimiles, which have a receiving function. In order to achieve high speed, copy quality, and stability, the printing mechanism of a digital copier creates an electrostatic latent image of digital signal information on a large carrier such as a photoreceptor, and develops this electrostatic latent image with toner. However, a so-called transfer type electrophotographic recording system is superior, in which the toner gI is transferred to recording paper, the toner image on the recording paper is fixed, and the paper is discharged onto a paper discharge tray. mosquito\
In digital printers that use the printer method, a normal original is copied, the original is transferred onto recording paper, and after it is fused, it is stored in a recording paper tray that is stored outside the machine, or when a digital signal from an external source is sent to the printer, such as a facsimile, computer, etc. Hard copy paper on which received information, etc. is copied is also usually stored in the same recording paper tray as described above after being fixed.

<Problems to be Solved by the Invention> The present invention uses a digital copier having a plurality of signal input sources to copy an ordinary original, and after the original image is transferred and fixed onto recording paper, a recording paper tray outside the machine is used. A mix of plain copy paper ejected into the machine and hard copy paper containing received information such as facsimiles, etc., which are generated by digital image signals from the outside.
A digital printer that can eliminate the hassle of selecting and separating plain copy paper and hard copy paper other than plain copies that are mixed together when taken out from the recording paper tray.
This is what we are trying to provide.

The converted electric signal is subjected to digital signal processing and sent to the printer section 2. For some 2rc printers,
The received digital signal is converted into an optical signal using a laser scanner unit 3 using a semiconductor laser and a polygon mirror, and the laser beam is projected onto a photoreceptor 6. An electrophotographic copying process unit (not shown) is arranged around the photoconductor 6, and an electrostatic latent image is formed on the photoconductor 6, which rotates in the direction of the arrow. The image is visualized as a toner image. On the other hand, the recording paper P is fed by the paper feed roller 7, stops once at the registration roller 8, and is sent in synchronization with the toner image on the photoreceptor 6 by a control signal from the control unit.
The toner image superimposed on the g light body 6 and on the photoreceptor 6 is transferred to the recording paper P by the transfer electrode 9, and becomes the at pole 10!
D. It is separated from the photoreceptor 6, transferred to the conveying member 11, guided to the heat roller fixing device 12, where it is fixed permanently, and then transferred to the upper paper ejection tray 14 provided for original copying by the paper ejection roller 13. Paper is ejected. On the other hand, digital electrical signals from external devices such as facsimiles and computers are temporarily stored in the image storage memory and memory buffer section, and then stored in the printer section 2, as shown in the 1111J block diagram shown in the second figure. The digital signal is read out and the laser scanner unit 3 is used in the same manner as described above to project a modulated laser beam onto the light tube photoreceptor 6 to release an electrostatic latent image, and the same process as described above is carried out. Through this process, a notebook of character and graphic information corresponding to the electrical signal is obtained. In this case, as shown in FIG. 3, the paper ejection roller 13 has separate paper ejection trays for each hard copy, for example, a lower paper ejection tray 15 for purposes other than document copying. automatically stored. Adding further explanation: 13
, 13 are comb-shaped paper ejection rollers), and a paper ejection stack switching lever 16 for changing the paper ejection direction of the recording paper is provided in the armpit at a position that does not interfere with the conveyance of the recording paper so as to be movable laterally. It is being An electromagnetic solenoid 19 is provided at the other end of the switching lever 16, and when the >6 solenoid 19 is energized, the switching lever 16 is urged downward in the figure as a fulcrum of the shaft 17t, as shown by the solid line in the figure. Position it so that the paper is ejected to the upper paper ejection tray. Also, when the solenoid 190 is de-energized, the spring 18 provided at the end of the lever
When the paper is biased, a position is taken such that the paper is ejected to the lower paper ejection tray as indicated by the dotted line 16' in the figure. In other words, a copy of the original,
The control unit determines whether the information is to be recorded by facsimile or computer output, and the control unit connects or disconnects the power to the solenoid 19. It is designed to automatically select whether to store the hard copy in the paper discharge tray 15 provided at the bottom or to store the hard copy in the paper discharge tray 15 provided at the bottom. The digital printer described above is designed to stop copying the normal original and output the external image signal as 71-tocoby if a digital image signal from the outside comes in while copying the normal original. This is an interrupt-type digital printer that outputs copies from the memory buffer section where they are temporarily stored after the scheduled number of copies of a book or ordinary original are completed and outputs them as a copy of a call signal from the outside. Regardless of the type of printer, even if it is a digital printer, the control unit will make the paper ejection tray for ejecting an I-paper copy of a normal original different from the ejection tray for ejecting a hard copy of a normal original. It was designed to be controlled. In addition, although two sets of paper output trays are shown in FIG. 3, it is also possible to install multiple bins with three or more stages, for example! s1 bin is for fax only, second bin is for computer, third
The bins and above may be used for normal copying, and the entire sorter may be moved up and down by the actions of a position detection sensor, a drive motor, etc. in accordance with instructions from the control section.

A sorter is used as a paper output tray for VC and normal copying.
It is also possible to switch the paper output by using a separate paper discharge tray exclusively for facsimile, and such a digital printer is also included in the present invention.

<Effects of the Invention> As described above, according to the present invention, ordinary original copies and information records from computers, facsimiles, etc. can be automatically stored in separate paper output trays. The separation between normal copies and other copies, which had been considered unrequired, required a lot of effort in making selections, resulting in a significant reduction in the amount of time spent organizing them.
