Abstract

PURPOSE:To input a control information such as a control code and changeover a mode without especially providing a menu area by deciding a signal obtained by comparing a pattern drawn on a coordinate input device with an inputted pattern, and outputting a decided result. CONSTITUTION:A coordinate constituting a character (pattern) drawn on a coordinate input device 101 is outputted in time series to a signal line 111, and a result recognized in a character recognition device 102 is added to a deciding section 106. The coordinate of one picture drawing line is stored in one picture memory section 103 and the previously stored coordinate of the picture drawing line is applied to one picture memory section 104. The contents of the first and the second pictures stored in both the memory sections 103, 104 are compared one point by one point by a comparison section 105 and the compared result is added to the section 106. Based on the comparing result of the comparison section 105, the character is decided by the section 106 and without especially providing a menu area, a control information such as a changeover of a mode or a control code is inputted.

In recent years, with the improvement of recognition technology and the development of microcomputers, systems have been developed that input characters and figures by hand from a coordinate input device. However, both the coordinate input device and the conventional key If it is necessary, it will actually become difficult to use.

Conventionally, when using a coordinate input device, it was necessary to switch between various modes.
For example, the following method was used:

Suppose now that a character string 503 is written in the character input area 501, and after writing the last character "enclosure" in the 5030th line of the character string, the user realizes that the fourth character 504 is incorrect. The user first instructs a correction 506 in the menu area 502, and then overwrites the incorrect character 504 with the correct character.

However, using the menu area 502 in this way reduces the area of the character input area 501 and requires large hand movements when selecting a mode, making it difficult to use. Particularly in the case of a small input device, the board surface is small, so how to make the menu area 502 small becomes a problem.

As described above, the present invention includes a comparison means for comparing a pattern drawn on a coordinate input device with an already input/mother turn, and a comparison means that judges a signal from this comparison means and outputs the judgment result. Since the control information is provided with a judgment means that allows the user to input the control information at the same position with the same motion as when writing patterns such as letters and figures, there is no confusion with other necessary inputs or turns. There is no. Particularly, even when the coordinate input surface is small and only - characters can be entered at a time, line breaks and even digits can be easily entered.

Now, when a character is written on the coordinate input device 101, the coordinates forming the character are transmitted to the signal line 111 as a time series. This time series of coordinates is input to the character recognition unit 102,
The recognition result is sent to the signal line 112. On the other hand, the time series of coordinates is also input to the one-stroke storage unit 103, and the coordinate input device 101
The time series of the coordinates of one actual drawing line is memorized from when the pen is first pressed until the next time the pen is released. At the same time, the 1
The coordinate time series of one stroke at the previous point in time is sent to another one-stroke storage section 104 and stored therein. Tsumashi, - side storage section 103

The comparison unit 105 compares the contents of the one-stroke storage units 103 and 104 point by point, and if the coordinate values match for most of the points, it determines that two lines have been written overlapping each other and transfers the signal to the signal line 1.
Send on 13th. Also, if it is determined that the two lines do not overlap, no signal is sent. The determination unit 106 receives the result from the character recognition unit 102 and the signal from the comparison unit 105. For example, if the recognition result is “=” and the comparison unit 105
When there is no signal from the signal line 1, the final result is "="
Send on 14th. Although the recognition result was "=", when there is a signal from the comparison unit 105, it is determined to be "deletion" and the erasure code P is sent to the signal line 114.
