Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the reflecting plate of a fixing device extremely small or unnecessary, by carrying recording paper in the form of 'U' and providing a heating body inside of the recording paper, and then, making heat rays radiated upward and downward from the heating body to directly reach the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:Recording paper 3 is carried in U-shape and a heating body 1 is provided inside the recording paper 3, and then, a reflecting plate 8 for preventing leakage of heat ray is installed to the opening section of a fixing device. Recording paper with an unfixed picture introduced into this fixing device by means of a guide roller 4b is heated by the heating body 1 and its advancing direction is inverted by the guide roller 4a. The recording paper 3 is again heated by the heating body 1 and discharged by the guide roller 4b. Since the upper and lower sections of the heating body 1 directly heat the recording paper 3 in such a way, the reflecting plate can be made extremely small or unnecessary.
