Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the accurate positioning and automatic ejection of IC cards with simple constitution by clamping the cards with an elastic bar having a large coefficient of friction. CONSTITUTION:An inserted IC card 1 has contact with a return bar 20 and this bar 20 is shifted together with the card 1. A solenoid is energized after the bar 20 is detected by a photosensor 22, and an arm 13 is moved down with oscillation. Then the card 1 is positioned accurately by an elastic bar 15 having a large coefficient of friction, and the information on the card 1 is read via a contact pin 14. When this reading process is through, the energizatin of the solenoid is released and the arm 13 is reset to its original position. Then the card 1 is ejected automatically by the bar 20 which is moved by a coil spring. Thus the card 1 is positioned accurately and ejected automatically owing to simple constitution needing no control circuit, etc. for a drive motor.
