号を発し、コピー又は印刷の動作を停止したりするよう
に構成されている。しかし大量にコピーを行う場合には
、予じめ給紙カセットを複写機又は印刷機本体より取り
外し残量をたしかめる必要が生じるっコピーの途中でカ
セット内の記録紙が無くなってしまうと、記録紙を補給
してからコピーを再スタートを行ったとき、それ以前の
コピー実枚数が無効になって、再び最初から連続コピー
動作がなされてしまうという不都合がある。従来カセッ
ト内に収容された記録紙の残量を検知表示させる手段の
一つとして特開昭56−118616号公報による提案
がある。これはカセット内の記録紙の枚数変化を回転量
に変換し、その回転量をポテンシオメータ−にて電気信
号に変換しメーターに表示するものであるが、この提案
はポテンショメーターへの回転の伝達機構が複雑であり
、ポテンショメーターの接触子の接触不良による誤動作
がある等のため実用上使用に困難があった。

を生じたり、ミラーの取付位置調整か面倒であったり、
検出装置が高価である等の欠点がある。
