Abstract

PURPOSE:To carry out perfect termiteproofing treatment of trough in which underground cables are o be laid, by jointing between troughs using a sealant with which specific amount of termiteproof active ingredient has been admixed. CONSTITUTION:The objective treatment can be accomplished by jointing between troughs using a sealant with which 0.1-10wt.% of termiteproof active ingredient [e.g., an organophosphorus one (i.e., chlorpyrifos, tetrchlorvinfos, pyridaphenthione, etc.) copper naphthenate] has been admixed. The amounts to be admixed are pref. such as to be 1-2wt.% and 3-5wt.%, for organophosphorus-based one and for copper naphthenate, respectively. EFFECT:Free from any problem of environmental pollution caused by release of the above active ingredient due to rain, etc.

Damage caused by dirt is becoming more and more severe every year, and damage to underground cables inside troughs is a major problem in industry, as well as damage to general buildings. For this reason, termite-proofing treatment for troughs in which communication cables and the like are buried is carried out by spraying an emulsion containing an effective termite-controlling ingredient on the soil inside the trough, or by mixing a powder or the like.

[Problems to be solved by the invention] However, with the conventional treatment method using emulsion powder, it is difficult to achieve a uniform treatment and it is difficult to completely prevent termites, especially when they invade into the troughs from the joints between the troughs. It had the disadvantage that there was a lot of damage caused by white ants. There was also concern about environmental pollution caused by the dissemination of effective anti-termite ingredients through rainwater, etc.

As a result of extensive research into termite-proofing treatments for these troughs, the present inventor found that if the joints between the troughs are bonded using a sealant containing an effective anti-termite ingredient, the cables within the troughs can be completely prevented from being damaged by termites. The present invention was completed based on this finding.

That is, an appropriate amount of the termite-preventing active ingredient is mixed into the sea fund, and the trough-to-trough joints are filled or piled up without any gaps. This sealant contains the termite-preventing active ingredient as described above.

It gradually solidifies after soul treatment and becomes a rubber-like elastic body after a few days.
This sealant prevents dirt from entering through the gaps between the joints, and because it is water resistant, there is no rumor that the active ingredient will prevent termites from being exposed to rainwater.

Known anti-termite active ingredients are used, and the addition ratio is such that a minimum amount of 0.1 has a negative effect on the elasticity in order to provide anti-termite performance. For this reason, organic liquium-based termite-preventing active ingredients are 1 to 2% by weight, and copper naphthenate is 5 to 5% by weight.

The sealant of the present invention can be obtained by dissolving the termite-preventing active ingredient as it is if it is liquid at room temperature, by heating and dissolving it if it is solid at room temperature, or by dissolving it in a solvent such as Kijiroll and then mixing it with the sealant using a normal mixer. It will be done.
