Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a wave form of the deflecting current of whose deflecting power and ratio between the horizontal scanning period and horizontal retrace periods are constant as following the variation of the horizontal oscillating frequency by selectively shortcircuiting either of an additional capacitor and an additional coil connected in series respectively with the resonance capacitor and horizontal deflecting coil in the horizontal output circuit. CONSTITUTION:The horizontal output circuit 12 consists of the additional capaci tor C11 connected in series with the resonance capacitor C and the additional coil L11 connected likewise with the horizontal deflecting coil L. The said capaci tor C11 and coil L11 can be short-circuited by closing switching S and S' con nected in parallel on/off. A control circuit 15 changes the horizontal oscillating frequency of the horizontal oscillating circuit 13 into f1 or f2, and at the same time selectively closes either of the two switches S and S'. Accordingly, the frequency of the deflecting current waveform is made variable as maintaining the ratio between the horizontal scanning period and horizontal retrace periods constant, as well as the deflection power consumed by the horizontal deflecting coil constant. Therefore, sufficient deflection power is obtained regardless of the horizontal oscillating frequency.
