The attachment of the shock absorber to the side of the vehicle body is structural, so that the absorber works effectively to absorb impact energy.

There are bumpers on the front of passenger cars that are equipped with shock absorbers and other measures to prevent minor collisions. However, in order to absorb the primary collision energy, the frame must be bent, and the bent part may buckle. Some of them were designed to take advantage of shape deformation effects, and were not designed to be able to be replaced and used again.

Although there are guards to prevent objects from getting into the vehicle, there is no shock absorbing material that absorbs the energy of a collision against the side of the vehicle, and as a result, the structure has not been taken into consideration when installing the vehicle.

If the vehicle is carrying a heavy load, the instantaneous high load applied to the load due to the collision will act on the vehicle body, causing the vehicle to overturn or eject the load.
This could have caused a secondary disaster.

As shown in FIGS. 1, 2, and 3 to 4, 1 has flanges 4.5 on the top and bottom surfaces of a base 2 consisting of a hollow polygonal base 2. The formed shock absorbing material is provided with regular notch holes 3 in the axial direction to facilitate buckling on each side of the base body 2.

Reference numeral 8 denotes a mounting plate, on which a retaining plate 10 that abuts the lower surface of the vehicle body frame 9 is welded and protrudingly provided, and reinforcing brackets 11 are welded at several locations between the mounting plate 8 and the retaining plate 10. Then, the mounting plate 8 and the holding plate 10 are brought into contact with the side and bottom surfaces of the vehicle body frame, respectively, and bolted.

The bumper 6 is attached to the vehicle body frame 9, but the attachment of the shock absorbing material is not particularly limited to the structure. The bumper 6 is attached to the bumper after welding the top plate and the bottom plate to the top and bottom surfaces. Of course, the mounting plate 6 and the mounting plate 8 may be attached by tightening bolts.

Since it is installed on the side, the impact energy that induces instantaneous high loads during a collision can be absorbed by this impact absorbing material 1 to a large extent through the phenomenon of buckling, although the overall total impact energy remains unchanged. . If the structure of the mounting plate 8, which serves as a mounting seat for absorbing the impact energy, is weak, the shock absorbing material 1 will not be able to absorb the buckling and will not be able to perform its function. Therefore, the structure of the seat should be made strong, and since the colliding object is generally located at a lower position than the body frame 9, the bumper position must be correspondingly lower than the body frame 9 to prevent collisions. A mounting is designed into the structure that can also absorb moment effects around the body frame 9 due to energy.

Due to the phenomenon of buckling, impact energy can be reliably absorbed and reduced.
Moreover, shock absorption
