クるバラケエサをつくるには本来かなりの熟練と細かい
配慮を必要とする上に、−V水で練ってしまった練りエ
サは時間がたつと次第に変質して、所謂ねばりを生じ、
そのねばりの出たバラケエサを水中に投じても仲々バラ
ケないので、釣り人は時々刻々変化するエサに対して絶
えず適度なバラクを与えるために少量の水や新たな麩を
追加したりして、エサに過度のねばりが出るのを抑えて
いる。

ある所定の深さに達したとき、そのりリカの作用によっ
て急速にパラケ始め、したがってその練り込みの強さが
無造作であっても、とにかくかたく練っておけば、余り
バラク具合の違わないバラケエサが得られ、しかもその
バラケエサは時間が経過してもねばりが余り上昇しない
でほぼ一定のバラクを保つこと、を見出した。

微粉末クレイが使用され、そのうち7〜40μmの粒度
と9896以上の純度を有する親水性の煙霧質シリカが
特に適している。この煙霧質シリカとしてはアエロジル
(AERO8IL、登録商標)という名称の下に日本ア
エロジル株式会社から売出されている生理的に無害な高
分散性シリカが特に好都合に使用される。
