Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a terminal strip from being fused for avoiding defective welding between a terminal fixture and a coil terminal, by providing the terminal strip under the terminal fixture with a slot extending in the direction of the coil axis. CONSTITUTION:A terminal strip 1 is provided on a coil bobbin 2 by integrally shaping synthetic resin such that it is projected outward therefrom in the direction of the coil axis. Terminal fixtures 5 are attached on the terminal strip 1 with a sufficient distance from each other for ensuring mutual insulation. A cut-out piece 10 is raised from the upper face of each of the terminal fixtures 5 for engaging a terminal end 4 of a coil 3. A slot 11 extending along the coil axis is further provided in the terminal strip 1 under the cut-out and raised piece 10 so that a welding lower electrode 7 is inserted in the slot. The slot 11 is opened such that it is spaced from the outer periphery of the welding lower electrode 7 by about 0.5mm, and by 1mm or more in the direction of the coil axis. The coil bobbin 2 provided with the terminal strip 1 having such aperture is inserted into a welding fixing jig 8 and the welding lower electrode 7 is inserted into the slot 11 in the terminal strip 1. Spot welding is performed with a welding upper electrode 7 applied onto the cut-out and raised piece 10 of the terminal fixture 5 engaging the terminal end 4 of the coil.

出して成形した合成樹脂製コイルボビン2に巻かれたコ
イル8の端末4を端子板lに設けた端子金具5に係止し
、上記端子金具5の上下から第5図に示すように電極6
および7を当接しスポットウェルドしていた。このスポ
ットウェルドを行う際には、コイルボビン2を固定治具
8Vc挿入し九のち端子板1に設けた電極用穴9から溶
接用の下電極7を挿入し、端子金具5に当接してスポッ
トウェルドを行うが、特に小形の放電灯用安定器などで
は端子板1が小さいため、十分な開口面積の電極用穴9
を設けることができず、また固定治具8にコイルボビン
2を挿入するとき、定位置に対しコイル軸方向に僅かな
寸法誤差を生じることによって溶接用下電極7が上記電
極用穴9に接触または近接し、溶接時の発熱により10
0000前後の高温となるため、電極用穴9の側壁が溶
融して溶融物質が電極7の上部に付着する。この状態を
繰返す間に上記溶接用下電極7と端子金具5との間が不
導通となシ、溶接不良を多発していた。この対策として
上記溶接用下電極7の上部直径を細くすることが考えら
れるが、溶接時の圧力や発熱の面から最低8mmfBを
必要とするため、実現することができない。第6図は従
来のコイル装置の端子部を示す平面図、第7図は上記従
来例を固定治具8に挿入した状態を示す正面図である。
