Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for storage in a manner as not to contact with air prior to the start of use by measuring the time elapsed since corrosion begins when a corrosive aq. soln. is applied to an indicator. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic resin film 1 is pasted to aluminum foil 3 via an urethane adhesive agent 2 and the opposite surface of the foil 3 is subjected to a corrosion preventive treatment in such a manner that a non-treated part 5 remains to the shape of a character, figure, etc. A colored water absorptive blank material 7 is laminated thereon and heat seal lacquer 6 is coated around the material 7. The corrosive aq. soln. such as aq. acid soln., aq. alkali soln. or metal corrosive microorganisms is applied to the material 7 so as to be absorbed therein and the used of the indicator is started. The corrosion of the foil 3 in the part 5 begins from the moment when the corrosive aq. soln. is applied to the water absorptive blank material. The corrosion progresses on elapsing of time and a hole is opened to the foil 3 after the specified period. The character of figure is distinctly discriminated when viewed from the film 1 side.

The indicator of the present invention can be used as a corrosive aqueous solution by applying a corrosive aqueous solution such as an acid aqueous solution, an alkaline aqueous solution, or an aqueous solution of metal-corrosive microorganisms to the water-absorbing material (7) to absorb the liquid. Dilute acids such as dilute sulfuric acid and dilute hydrochloric acid, potassium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide,
Very dilute aqueous solutions such as sodium carbonate are used. The concentration of acid and alkali is related to the rate of corrosion, and the rate of corrosion and the thickness of the aluminum foil are related to the shelf life of the indicator.

-7/QX was gravure coated using a gravure plate with a plate depth of 80μ, and after laminating it to the anti-corrosion treated side of aluminum foil 20μ (coating amount: 1.51mm), the untreated side of the aluminum foil had a “validity period”. It was coated with a mixed solution of epoxy and phosphoric acid using a gravure plate with a depth of 60 μm so that the text ``It's too late'' was left as an untreated area. After sufficiently drying, water absorbent resin ink (100 parts by weight of starch-sodium polyacrylate graft polymer, 100 parts by weight of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, and 100 parts by weight of ethyl acetate) and a blue colorant were mixed to form an ink. The untreated areas were coated with a gravure plate with a plate depth of 80 μm (approximately 1 t/p coating amount).
Then, an ethylene-vinyl acetate heat-seal lacquer was coated around the water-absorbing material to obtain an indicator material (1) of the present invention.
