Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively utilize timbers, etc., by a method in which timbers are combined into in parallel crosses and fixed with bolt nuts, mirror faces are formed, and the tips of timbers are inserted from the back side of the mirrored portion into the central aperture of the mirrored portion and fixed with bolt and nuts to form a stay material. CONSTITUTION:A pair of left- and right-handed vertical materials 2 of timbers, etc., are joined with both ends of the back sides of a pair of upper and lower lateral materials 1 of timbers, etc., and fixed with bolt and nuts 3 to form a mirrored portion 4 of a parallel cross form. The tips of one or two stay materials 5 are inserted into the central position of the aperture in the upper and lower lateral materials 1 of the mirrored portion 4, and bolt and nuts 3 are inserted into vertical bolt holes leading to the materials 1 and 5 and fixed to form a wood block 6. The wood blocks 6 are stacked up to build up a retaining wall, etc., and therefore, timbers, etc., can be effectively utilized.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, the heavy load of concrete blocks for civil engineering makes them inconvenient to transport and handle on site, and it takes time and effort to pour concrete into the gaps between the restraining materials. However, because the mirror surface reflects light, it is often avoided from the perspective of protecting the natural environment.

In order to solve these problems, the present invention is a wood block made by cutting raw wood such as logs into appropriate lengths and assembling them with bolts and nuts, which is convenient for transportation because it can be assembled on-site. It is not bulky, lightweight, and easy to install.
This method is characterized by the fact that it is possible to plant grass and trees in the gaps between constructed slopes, and it is also possible to effectively utilize thinned wood and other wood that currently has problems in its disposal.

A pair of upper and lower horizontal members 1, 1 and a pair of left and right vertical members 2, 2 made of wood are formed, and the positions near both ends of the horizontal member 1 and the positions near both ends of the vertical member 2 are connected to the front and rear surfaces. Drill a bolt hole, join the vertical members 2.2 to both ends of the back side of the horizontal members 1 and 1, insert the bolt nut 3 into the communicating bolt hole, and tighten it to form the square-shaped mirror part 4.
Then, the tips of one or two braces 5 are inserted into the center of the gap between the upper and lower horizontal members 1, 1 of the mirror part 4, and the upper and lower horizontal members 1.1 and the upper and lower parts of the braces 5 are connected. A wood block 6 is constructed by inserting and tightening bolt nuts 3 into bolt holes in the direction. In the figure, 7 indicates the ground and 8 indicates the backing material.

Functions and Effects The wood block 6 according to the present invention is a combination of a mirror part 4 made of short pieces of wood assembled into a square shape, and a brace 5 made of a long piece of wood protruding backward from the mirror part 4. As shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the lower ends of the vertical members 2, 2 of the first stage wood blocks 6a are buried in the ground 7, which will serve as the foundation, and are joined and arranged in the left and right direction. The backing material 5 is buried in the backfilling material 8 while earth and stone are used as the backfilling material 8 on the back side of the mirror section 4, and then the second stage wood block 6b is placed so that the center lower surface of the mirror section 4 is the first stage. The upper wood block 6b17) is placed so as to face the left and right joint surfaces of each of the wood blocks 6a, and the lower wood block 6b17) is placed on the upper surface of the upper cross member 1 of the lower wood block 6a. The second stage wood blocks 6b are arranged in the left-right direction while joining the lower ends of the left and right vertical members 2, 2 of the upper stage wood block 6b to the back of the upper horizontal member 1 of 6a, and then the third stage wood blocks are arranged. 6c are similarly arranged on the upper surface of the second stage, and the gaps between the respective retaining members 5 are filled with soil and stones to build a retaining wall with a height of about 3 to 10 m. Since each wood block 6 can be piled up, the applied load is dispersed, resulting in mechanically superior construction, and since the restraining material 5 is provided protruding, it has excellent resistance to applied loads and earth pressure. It is also possible to adjust the height and pile height according to the local soil quality and topography. In addition, as shown in Figure 5, by tilting the restraining material 5 with respect to the ground 7 and further adjusting the length, it is possible to construct a slope suitable for the local conditions, and at the same time, it is possible to construct a slope suitable for the field conditions. It is also possible to green the slope by planting trees, and each type of wood is treated with preservative treatment to maintain its durability.

Since the wood block 6 is made of wood, it is lighter than concrete, and when transported, it can be transported in a bar shape and assembled on site using bolts and nuts 3, and stacking does not require skilled workers like the block. Even an amateur can easily perform the construction. Furthermore, by forming the wood block 6 using thinned wood, which is currently difficult to process, its utility value can be increased, and other remarkable effects can be achieved as described above.
