In general, a liquid crystal display device consists of a liquid crystal display element (hereinafter referred to as the element) that displays information in a pattern, and a drive circuit mounting board (hereinafter referred to as the board) that drives this element. The connection is made by arranging the element and the substrate facing each other, and between a large number of electrode terminal parts arranged in parallel at the end of the electrode board of this element and a large number of electrode terminal parts arranged in parallel at the end of the board. As a conductive member, for example, a conductive rubber made by alternately laminating a conductor and an insulating rubber at a pitch equal to the arrangement pitch of the electrode terminals is compressed and held, and each of the electrode terminals arranged opposite to each other is electrically connected. It was electrically conductive.

However, in this configuration, the conductive rubber is compressed and held between the electrode terminal portion of the element and the electrode terminal portion of the substrate to establish an electrical connection. The conduction resistance is high, and when compressed and held between both electrode terminal portions, there is a problem that tilting, falling, buckling, etc. due to deformation occur, reducing electrical connectivity.

Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned conventional problems, and its purpose is to reduce the electrical conduction resistance by defining the cross-sectional shape and hardness of the conductive member, Another object of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display device that can prevent tilting, falling down, buckling, etc. due to deformation and provide reliable electrical connectivity.

In order to achieve such an object, the present invention provides a conductive member with a conductive part in the center, insulating conductive support parts on both sides of the conductive part, and insulating reinforcing parts on both sides of the conductive part. In addition, the rubber hardness of this reinforcing portion is made larger than that of the conductive support portion.

FIGS. 1(-) and 1(b) are perspective views showing an example of a conventional conductive member, and a sectional view thereof at A-. In the same figure,
1 is a conductive part made of a conductive layer containing carbon for electrically connecting opposing electrode terminals between an element and a substrate (not shown); 2 is a silicone rubber insulating layer for mechanically supporting conductive part 1; 3 is a reinforcing part made of a silicone rubber insulating layer to support the conductive supporting part 2 in a flexible manner, and this reinforcing part 3 is set in a straight line when it is set between the element and the substrate. In order to maintain the properties, the rubber hardness is set to be slightly larger than that of the conductive part 1 and the conductive support part 2.

Further, when the height of the conductive part 1 and the conductive support part 2 is H, the height H' of the reinforcing part 3 is formed to be slightly higher (H'>H).

On the other hand, the conductive member according to the present invention is shown in Fig. 2←).
As shown in FIG. 1(b) corresponding to FIGS. 1(&) and (b), the reinforcing portion 3 is formed with a rubber hardness significantly greater than that of the conductive portion 1 and the conductive support s2. That is, in this case, the rubber hardness of the reinforcing part 3 is 60 to 80 degrees, with an optimal value of 70±5 degrees, and the rubber hardness of the conductive part 1 and conductive support part 2 is 10 to 20 degrees, with an optimal value of about 15 degrees. It is preferable to set it to . The height H of the good conductive support part 2 is formed to be slightly smaller than the height Hl of the reinforcing part 3, and the conductive support part 2 and the conductive part 1 are formed to have the same height.

Furthermore, the relationship between the height H of the conductive part 1 and the conductive support part 2 and its width holds 0.2<''/de≦1.2, preferably 0.75 (a value of 1.1 is better).

Table 1 As is clear from Table 1, the contact resistance value can be significantly reduced, and in particular, among the variations, the high resistance side is extremely reduced, so the incidence of lighting malfunction during assembly can be extremely reduced. was completed. Furthermore, by setting the relationship between the height of the conductive support part 2 and its width within the range of 0.2<H7,≦1.2, the occurrence of falling and tilting defects of the conductive rubber is significantly improved. When /L=163, approximately 30% of the defects occurred in falling and inclination of the conductive rubber, whereas when /L=1.0, there were no defects at all.

FIG. 3 is a sectional view of main parts showing another embodiment of the present invention;
The same parts as in FIG. 2 are given the same reference numerals. In the figure, the conductive rubber is constructed by forming the reinforcing part 3 in advance into a rectangular shape, cutting the center part to form a triangular shape, and adhering this to the side surface of the rectangular conductive support part 2. . In this case, when the width of the reinforcing part L' 1 3 is L', /L#/ is desirable, but the width L' may be selected depending on the width dimension of the conductive support part 2.

In this case, as in the first embodiment, the conductive part 1 and the conductive support part 2 have the same plane, and the rubber hardness is desirably about 15 degrees for the conductive support part 2 and about 70 degrees for the reinforcement part 3. The relationship between height H and width is also 0.75 < /, < 1.1

FIG. 4 is a sectional view of a main part showing still another embodiment of the present invention, and the same parts as in FIG. 2 are given the same reference numerals. In the figure, the conductive rubber is formed into an almost elliptical shape and the conductive portion 3 is actively exposed, so that electrical connection between each electrode terminal between the element and the substrate is achieved.
