Abstract

蔵する場合にはフィルターを記録ヘッド′t−構成する
部材と別体で形成し、後で一体化する方法が一般的であ
る。これはフィルターの入手の容易さ等から一般的な方
法となっている。しかるに、このような方法でインクジ
ェット記録ヘッドを製造してみると、インクジェット記
録ヘッドは、フィルターがインク供給路の端部に設けら
れ、インク供給路の途中に圧力発生室、インク供給路の
他端に噴射ノズルが形成され、それぞれが微妙な相関関
係を維持しており、かつ、各々が微細な寸法で形成され
るため、製造のばらつきによりインク供給路の径が小さ
いときは、インク供給路の小ささに応じた小ささのフィ

チングにより前記基板面に交差する方向に同時に形成し
た後、前記他方の基板と接合することにより、前記フィ
ルターを前記インク供給路、圧力発生室、圧力伝達路及
び噴射ノズルと一体的に製造することを特徴とする。

れるインクをろ過するフィルター及び圧力発生室とを内
蔵したオンディマンド型のインクジェット記録ヘッドの
製造方法において、 前記記録ヘッドを構成する一方の基板面上に前記インク
供給路の一方の端部に設けられるフィルター、及び前記
インク供給路、前記インク供給路の他端に設けられる前
記圧力発生室、該圧力発生室に連なる圧力伝達路、該圧
力伝達路の他方の端部に設けられる噴射ノズルに対応す
る溝をフォトエッチングにより前記基板面に交差する方
向に同時に形成した後、前記他方の基板と接合すること
により、前記フィルターを前記インク供給路、圧力発生
室、圧力伝達路及び噴射ノズルと一体的に製造すること
を特徴とするインクジェット記録ヘッドの製造方法。
