子。 With the bottom surfaces of the pair of light-transmitting optical members placed on a clean plane, the two light-transmitting optical members are made to face each other with a gap between them, and a birefringent material is melted from the bottom side into the opposing gap. In a polarizing element that forms a birefringent layer between translucent optical members by infiltrating a liquid and slowly cooling it to form a single crystal, the bottom surface of the translucent optical member is connected to the bottom surface on the gap side. A polarizing element, characterized in that the polarizing element has an inclined surface that gradually increases the facing distance with the clean plane from the portion toward the outer surface of the transparent optical member perpendicular to the bottom surface.
