6bが弾性的に接触しでいる。前記ブリツノ回路7から
の出力端子の一方は円板5aに、他方は円板5bにそれ
ぞれ接続し、したがってこれら端子6aと6bの間には
入力軸2のよじれ角に比例し、かつ回転方向によって可
逆的に電位差を発生するようになっている。この出力は

向抵抗)との差に応じてよじれを生じる。このよじれ角
は検出部3のストレインデージにより電気的に検出され
、そのよじれ角とよじれ方向に応じて制御回路8が駆動
モータ25を回転駆動する。このため駆動モータ25の
ピニオン44が、入力軸2のピニオン40と同方向に回
転を始め、フック43を移動させてサイドロッド42を

出力にもとづいて可逆的に駆動される駆動モータを備え

して伝達するようにしたので、入力軸の回松を検出する
部分と、ラックを駆動するモータとは電気的な結線によ
り連結でき、したがって相互の位置関係に制約を受けず
、車両の狭いエンジンルームや車輪回りにも自由に設置
することができ、とくにコンパクトで小回りの効く、ラ
ックビニオン式のパワーステアリングの特徴を活かすこ
とができ、かつ全体的な構造の簡略化と共に低コスト化

する車両のパワーステアリング装置においで、ハンドル
の回転が伝達される入力軸に連動して車輪の向きを転向
するラックを設け、上記入力軸に操舵入力と操舵抵抗と

を取付け、該検出部の出力にもとづいて可逆的に駆動さ
れる駆動モータを備え、前記ラックにこの駆動モータの
回転力をピニオンを介して伝達するようにしたことを特
