Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily alter the number of printing figures of one line, by providing a switch for setting the number of printing figures, and judging and setting the number of printing figures by reading the state of said switch. CONSTITUTION:The content of a switch reading port 61 is read to judge whether the number of set figures are 90 or 136 figures and the judged result is stored in RAM2. When data 100 is received from a host computer through a communication interface 7, a microprocessor 1 judges whether a received data amount has reached the set number of printing figures according to the control program stored in ROM3. When said data amount has not reached, received data is developed on printing data as it is by using a character generator and printing data is stored in buffer 5 to finish processing. When the received data amount has reached the set number of figures, an order is applied to a motor driving part 8 to perform return and line feed operation and the received data is developed as the printing data of the next line and the printing data is stored in the buffer 5 to finish processing.

[Technical background of the invention and its problems] In conventional printer devices, the print width of one line is fixed. It was necessary to set the farthest printing position in the control section of the printer device using a command from the computer. Therefore, when executing software for an 80-column printer using a printer with a printing width of 136 digits per line, it is necessary to modify the program of the host combicoater, and the printing width of one line can be easily changed. The drawback was that it could not be done.

A ROM 3 for storing the control program, a character generator 4 for generating a print pattern when the received data is converted into print pattern data b=178, and a buffer 5 for temporarily holding the print pattern. Input ports 1 to 6 that read data indicating the external state of the printer device, a communication interface 7 that receives data from the boss mill computer, and a motor that drives the motor based on operation control signals output from the microprocessor 1. A head drive unit 9 that drives the head based on operation control signals output from the drive unit 8 and the microprocessor 1 is connected. In addition, a switch reading boat 61 is installed in the input boat 4.
-61 is connected to a switch 1o for setting the number of printing digits (for example, either 136 digits per line or 80 digits per line), and this switch 10 is connected to the operation panel of the printer, etc.
It can be installed in a location that is easy for the operator to operate. Further, a printing pad 11 is connected to the spatula 1 to the drive section 9c.

Next, the operation of this embodiment will be explained. First, the state of the switch 10 is read into the switch read board 61 stored in the input ports 1 to 6.Next, the microprocessor 1 follows the control program stored in the ROM 3 and executes the process shown in FIG. The process shown in the flowchart is executed. That is, in step 201, the contents of the switch read boat 61 are read, and in step 20
In step 203, it is determined whether the set number of digits is 80 digits or 136 digits, and if it is 136 digits, the number of printing digits is set to 1.36 digits in step 203, and this is stored in the RAM 2. If the number of H digits is 80 (at step 202), the number of digits to be printed is set to 80 digits at step 20/l, and this is stored in the RAM 2.

That is, in step 301, it is determined whether the amount of received data has reached the number of printing digits set in flowcharts 1 through 1 shown in FIG. If not, in step 302, the received data is expanded as it is into print data using the character generator 4, the expanded print data is stored in the buffer 5, and the process ends. In step 301, if the amount of received data has reached the set number of print digits, the process goes to step 303, where a command is given to the motor drive unit 8 to perform return and change operations. Thereafter, in step 304, the received data is developed as print data for the next line, and this developed print data is stored in the buffer 5, and the process is terminated. The subsequent processing is done using buffer 5.
The developed print data is read and compared and sent to the printing rad 11 via the head drive unit 9, and printing is performed using the designated number of digits.Since this part of the operation is already known, the 5T system is not suitable. Illustrations and explanations are omitted.5 tables are omitted.
