Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a toner head having an easily manufacturable structure and capable of recording of high resolution by setting the branched tips of a comb-shaped magnetic sheet so as to face an electrostatic recording sheet. CONSTITUTION:Plural conductive electrode patterns 11 in the form of separate conductor form are formed on an insulator base plate 5 consisting of a nonmagnetic insulator such as glass or ceramics. A comb-shaped magnetic sheet 13 is bonded through an insulator sheet 12 to the upside of the patterns 11. The sheet 13 is of a thickness of 50mum. For example, a photo resist is coated on both sides of a conductive magnetic sheet containing iron and exposed to light for development, and an etchant liquid is sprayed onto both sides of the sheet to form a comb-shaped pattern. By using such a both-side etching method, the formation of the pattern can be greatly speeded up, and etching of 50mum width can be easily performed since the magnetic electrodes are separated from each other due to its comb-shaped form.

During recording, the insulating layer 3t of the electrostatic recording sheet 1 is charged in advance, and the conductive magnetic toner 9 is uniformly adhered thereon by electrostatic force. In this state, while applying a pulse voltage corresponding to the information to be recorded from the pulse voltage source 10 between the conductive pattern 7 and the conductive sheet 2, an arrow mark is drawn between the electrostatic recording sheet 1t and the toner head 4'. When the electrostatic recording sheet 1 is passed through the electrostatic recording sheet 1 in the direction of
does not lose its adhesion and is detached by the magnetic force of the magnet 8. Therefore, by modulating (on, off) the pulse voltage source 10t in accordance with the information to be recorded, recording can be performed on the electrostatic recording sheet 1 with the conductive magnetic toner 9.

To give a specific design example of the toner head 4' in such a recording device, for example, when performing print recording at a density of %8 lines/w, the width of the conductive magnetic pattern 60 is about 50 μm6. The thickness of the magnetic material pattern 6 must be determined so that it can sufficiently attract the toner 9.
Approximately 0 μm is necessary.

However, when attempting to form the conductive magnetic material pattern 6 having such a width and thickness by, for example, sputtering or dry etching, the sputtering process takes about 24 hours. Dry etching takes about 20 hours and productivity is extremely low, making it difficult to put into practical use.

According to the present invention, since the comb-shaped magnetic material sheet (1) is used, its preparation is carried out by applying 7-photoresist on both sides of one magnetic material sheet in advance, exposing and developing it, and then etching it from both sides of the sheet to form a pattern. This can be achieved by forming a 50 μm
Even sheets having a certain width and thickness can be easily patterned. Therefore, productivity can be greatly improved compared to the conventional method 4.

That is, a magnetic sheet having a thickness of 50 μm is prepared. This magnetic sheet is, for example, a conductive magnetic sheet containing iron. Next, 7 Otoregis (1) is coated on both sides of this magnetic sheet, exposed and developed, and an etching solution is sprayed onto both sides of the sheet to form a comb-shaped pattern tube. By using this double-sided etching method, the speed of pattern formation is greatly improved, and since the individual comb-shaped magnetic electrodes do not separate into ICs, etching with a width of 50 μm can be easily performed. Lines appear.

FIGS. 2(a) and 2(b) show the configuration of a recording apparatus using the toner head of the present invention. In the figure, 14 is a magnet, and the lines of magnetic force generated from this magnet 14 are branched parts 13-1, 13-2, 13-3 of the comb-shaped magnetic sheet 13.
-..., and the conductive magnetic toner 9 previously deposited on the insulating layer 3 on the conductive sheet 2 is divided into bits and attracted. In this state, a pulse voltage corresponding to the information to be recorded is applied between the conductive electrode 11 and the conductive sheet 2 from the pulse power source 10 (electrostatic recording sheet).
When the electrostatic recording sheet 1 is passed under the toner head 4, the static electricity is removed from the electrostatic recording sheet 1 in response to the application of a pulse voltage, and the toner 9 on that area does not lose its adhesion and is detached by the magnetic force of the magnet 14.

It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to the above-mentioned embodiments.
For example, in the embodiment, a case has been described in which conductive magnetic toner is uniformly deposited on an electrostatic recording sheet, and then the charge is selectively removed by a toner head to separate the toner for recording.
The toner head of the present invention can also be applied to recording by selectively depositing toner on an electrostatic recording sheet using a toner head. If the magnetic sheet 13 is non-conductive, the insulating sheet 12 is not necessary.
