な、磁気記録媒体をもつカード類に関し、そのカード類

近年、磁気記録媒体をもつカード類の普及は著しく、キ
ャッシュカード、銀行通帳をはじめ、クレジットカード

いる。 こうした磁気カード類の普及につれて、磁気カ
ード類を偽造または複製して悪用する者があられれ、そ
の防止とカード類の真偽を適確に判別する技術が要求さ

偽カードを排除できるような磁気記録媒体をもつカード
類を提供し、それを使用して真偽判別および偽造防止を
確実に行なう記録方法をも提供することにある。
発明の構成
[問題点を解決するための手段]
図面を参照して説明すれば、本発明の磁気記録媒体をも
つカード類は、第1図および第2図に示すような基材1
の上に磁気記録層2を有するカード類において、磁気記
録層2が上層の低抗磁力磁気記録層2Aおよび下層の高
坑磁力磁気記録層2Bからなることを特徴とする。
本発明の磁気記録媒体をもつカード類の記録方法は、上
記の構造の、すなわち基材1の上に上層の低抗磁力磁気
記録層2Aと下層の高坑磁力磁気記録層2Bとからなる
磁気記録層2を有するカード類を用い、ひとつの態様は
、高坑磁力磁気記録層2Bに真の情報を書き込むととも
に低抗磁力磁気記録層2Aに偽の情報を書き込むことに
よって記録を行ない、低抗磁力磁気記録層2Aの偽の情
報を消去して高坑磁力磁気記録層2Bの真の情報をよむ
ことによって読みとりを行なうことを特徴とする。
いまひとつの態様は、磁気記録層2に、たとえば第1図
に符号4で示したような照合用トラック4を設け、その
高坑磁力磁気記録層2Bの部分に照合用情報を書き込ん
だ後、低抗磁力磁気記録層2Aの部分に偽の情報を書き
込むとともに情報用トラックに情報を書き込むことによ
って記録を行ない、照合用トラックの低抗磁力磁気記録
層の情報を消、去して高坑磁力磁気記録層の照合用情報
を読み、真のカードであることを確認して、偽物は゛排
除した上で真のカードの情報用トラックの情報を読むこ
とによって読みとりを行なうことを特徴とする。
[作 用]
第一の態様において、高坑磁力磁気記録層2Bに真の情
報を書き込んだ後に低抗磁力磁気記録層2Aに偽の情報
を書き込んでも、真の情報の記録層は抗磁力が高いため
後の書き込みによる影響は受けない。 すなわち、低抗
磁力層用書込電流がノイズを与えることはない。 この
カード類を通常の読みとり装置で読むと、真の情報と偽
の情報とが重なって読まれ、何が真の情報かわからない
。
また、コピーをしても無意味である。 本発明に従って
、低抗磁力磁気記録層2Aに書き込まれている偽の情報
を消去した後、高坑磁力磁気記録層2Bに書き込まれて
いる真の情報を読みとると、真の情報の記録層は抗磁力
が高いため、偽の情報を消去する低抗磁力用消去電流で
消去されるおそれはない。 通常の低抗磁力磁気記録層
だけをもつカード類に、上記の真偽とりまぜた情報をコ
ピーしたものは、この消去によってすべての情報が消さ
れてしまうから、容易に偽物であることがわかる。
第二の態様においては、照合用トラックの高抗磁力磁気
記録の部分の照合用情報に対し、その上の低抗磁力磁気
記録層に書き込みおよび消去される情報が、上記の偽の
情報の役割を果して、カードの真偽の判別を容易にする
とともに照合用情報のコピーを困難にする。 この態様
によるときは、情報は低抗磁力磁気記録層に書き込めば
よく、照合用情報との対応関係を確認してカードを処理

本発明で「カード類」とは、キャッシュカードやクレジ
ットカードに限らず乗車券や回数券、預金通帳を含む意
味である。
「記録」とは、上述したところから明らかなように、磁
気記録層への書き込み、読み出しの両方を包含する語で
ある。
磁気記録層には、常用のコバルト被着ガンマ酸化鉄その
ほか、任意の磁性材料を、適宜のバインダーとともに使
用する。 カード類の基材は、任意にえらぶことができ
る。
磁気記録層が耐摩耗性を必要とする場合は、その上に保
護層3を設ける。
磁気記録層をつくるには、磁性材料を含有するインキの
印刷によるのがよい。 すなわち低抗磁力磁気記録層2
Aのベタ印刷と高坑磁力磁気記録層2Bのベタ印刷との
組み合わせである。 このような磁気記録層を基材に合
体させる手段の代表的なものは、後に実施例を示す熱転
写であるが、もちろんそのほかの手段によってもよい。
上記した本発明の記録方法の効果を一層確実にするため
には、高坑磁力磁気記録層2Bから真の情報を読みとっ
た債、いったん消去をした低抗磁力磁気記録層2Aに、
再度偽の情報を書き込んで、真の情報を隠すことが好ま
しい。 再度与える偽の情報は、いうまでもなく、さき
に消去したものと同じであってもよいしくこの場合は、
偽の情報を消去するに先立ってバッフ7メモリに保存し

このことは、第二の態様における照合用トラックに関し

[実施例]

下記の原料を配合して、ホットメルト接着剤塗料を調製
した。

塗料を磁気記録層上に、グラビアコートし、厚さ10μ
のホットメルト接着層を形成した。
以上の順序で形成した転写シートを6.5m幅にスリッ
トし、カード基材に用いる厚さ100μのポリ塩化ビニ
ルシートの所定の位置に熱転写し、ベースフィルムであ
るポリエステルフィルムを剥離した。 こうして用意し
た磁気記録層つきのオーバーシートに、ポリ塩化ビニル
のセンターコア(厚さ560μ)と、やはりポリ塩化ビ
ニルのオーバーシート(厚さ100μ)とをこの順に重
ね、150’C,25KFJ/crAの条件で加熱加圧
して積層し、仕上げ、打扱きを行ない、縦86m、幅5
4履、厚さ0.76mのカードを得た。
このように製造した磁気記録媒体をもつカードに、高坑
磁力磁気記録層に真の情報を書き込むとともに低抗磁力
磁気記録層に偽の情報を書き込んだ。 読みとりは、低
抗磁力磁気記録層の偽の情報を消去して1.高坑磁力磁
気記録層の真の情報をよみとることができた。
なお、保護層と磁気記録層の間に着色層を設けてもよい
し、着色層と磁気記録層の間に、蒸着層を設けてもよい

発明の効果
本発明の磁気記録媒体をもつカードは、外部からは磁気
記録層の厚さが2層構造になっていることがわからず、
偽造困難である。 普通の読みとり装置では偽の情報を
読んでしまうから、真の情報が読めず、コピーもできな
