DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to an electron beam irradiation device for elongated objects such as plastics such as polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride, and rubber. Products made of polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, etc., or products made of rubber, such as electric wires and tubes, are irradiated with electron beams for crosslinking. It is irradiated with an electron beam by moving back and forth over and over again.
In this case, the electron beam emitted from the irradiation window does not entirely hit the irradiated object, but rather a considerable amount leaks downward through between the irradiated objects. Such leaked electron beams may hit the concrete floor below the irradiation device, or hit metal objects such as the legs that support the irradiation device or its auxiliary equipment; Braking X-rays are generated when the beam hits an object. The energy of this braking X-ray is approximately proportional to the atomic number of the object, but if the object is made of a material with a heavy atomic number such as a metal body, the braking
The energy of the rays is large, so the protective shielding wall needs to be quite thick.

The present invention relates to a device that was created in view of the above problems, and it irradiates an elongated object with an electron beam at an irradiation position below the irradiation window, and directs the electron beam leaking downward to the irradiation position. It is characterized in that it receives water from a saucer placed on it.

FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of the present invention.
In the figure, 1 is an electron beam emitting part, 2 is an irradiation window, 3 is an irradiation position, and 4 is an irradiated object.
The structure is such that the electron beam is irradiated with the electron beam many times by reciprocating between the rolls 5 and 5' many times. 6 is a saucer placed below the irradiation position and filled with water. It is desirable that the water be deep enough to completely catch the electron beam leaking below the irradiation position, but it is also effective if it is shallower than that.

Furthermore, if the receiving tray is provided with a water inlet and an outlet to remove heat generated by exposure to the electron beam and decomposed products, the temperature will not rise too much and the decomposed products will not accumulate too much.

In the device of the present invention described above, the water in the saucer is used to receive the electron beam leaking to the lower side of the irradiation position, so the atoms that make up the water generally have a higher atomic number than the atoms that make up the walls made of concrete or metal. Because it is small, there is less generation of brake X-rays due to exposure to electron beams, and there is no need for a large-scale protective shielding wall compared to the case where a water-filled saucer is not used, making it more economical.

Also, since water is a good electrical conductor, it has the effect of dissipating scattered electron beams underground through the outflow section.
