Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate handling of a photosensitive body by forming an insulating layer having a surface resistivity of >=1X10<10>OMEGA on the surface of a protective cover in contact with the photosensitive layer of the photosensitive body, and coating the photosensitive layer and the surface of the protective cover with a solid lubricant. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer 2 is formed on the photosensitive body 1, covered with the protective layer 3, and its ends are fixed with an adhesive tape 4. The insulating layer made of polyethylene film having a surface resistivity of >=1X10<10>OMEGA is formed on the side of the layer 3 in contact with the layer 2. The layer 3 and the side of the layer 2 in contact with the layer 3 are coated with the solid lubricant of polyvinylidene fluoride, thus permitting the photosensitive body to be held without directly touching the photosensitive layer, its handling to be made easy, and stains and damage of the photosensitive layer to be prevented.

"Conventional Example" Conventionally, inorganic photoconductors such as cadmium sulfide, selenium, and zinc oxide have been used as electrophotographic photoreceptors, and in recent years, organic photoconductors, amorphous silicon, etc. have also been used. It has become. Particularly when these photoreceptors are used in Carlson type electrophotography, dents, scars, fingerprints and oil stains on the surface of the photoreceptor, effects of solvents and acids and alkalis, exposure to ultraviolet rays, etc. can cause negative effects on the image. This has various negative effects. Therefore, photoreceptors require extremely careful handling and are packaged to prevent damage. Various protection mechanisms for the surface of the photoreceptor are provided in the packaging of the photoreceptor, and in the case of amorphous selenium a-Be, etc., the photoreceptor surface is in a wet state in which it is not in contact with anything. Furthermore, replacement of the photoreceptor was performed by a specialized worker (serviceman).

One way of packaging a photoconductor is to apply a solid lubricant to the photoconductor number ζ and cover it with a soft protective cover. The photoconductor wrapped in a protective material is installed in an electronic copying device, and then the photoconductor is protected. Remove cover.

"Problems to be Solved by the Invention" In the above-mentioned packaging form that does not contact the surface of the photoreceptor, packaging costs are high and the volume of the package is large. When the photoreceptor is taken out of the package, the photosensitive layer of the photoreceptor is exposed and is easily damaged when the photoreceptor is inserted into or removed from the electronic copying apparatus.

In addition, solid lubricants coated on the surface of the photoreceptor can be packaged directly on top of the photoreceptor, so the cost is lower than packaging with a gap between the photoreceptor and the photoreceptor, and there is less risk of damage when handling the photoreceptor. However, in conventional systems that use a protective cover to cover the solid lubricant, when the protective cover is peeled off from the photoreceptor, the solid lubricant scatters onto the electronic copying machine, causing damage to the equipment and damaging the operator and his/her clothing. It gets dirty.

A first object of the present invention is to provide a photoreceptor protection member that is easy to handle. A second object of the present invention is to provide a protective member in which the solid lubricant applied to the surface of the photoreceptor does not affect the electronic copying device. A third object of the present invention is to provide a protective member that does not adversely affect the surface of a photoreceptor.

Furthermore, the surface of the protective cover that comes into contact with the photoreceptor surface is insulative, and the protective cover and photoreceptor are electrostatically attracted to each other.
The protective cover and photoreceptor are in close contact with each other in their natural state. Furthermore, since the solid lubricant is applied to the surface of the photoreceptor, the solid lubricant does not scatter onto the electronic copying apparatus even if the protective cover is peeled off from the photoreceptor.

Embodiment / In FIG. 1, / is a photoreceptor substrate, and although a drum-shaped substrate is shown here, it may also be a strip-shaped substrate. C is a photosensitive layer in which a photosensitive material is provided in a layered manner on a photoconductor substrate L, J is at least an image forming device of a photoconductor attached to an image forming device, a thickness of 110 μm covering the corresponding surface, and a surface resistivity J.
It is a protective cover made of 1015Ω polyethylene film, and the ends are fixed with adhesive tape. Further, polyvinylidene fluoride powder is applied as a solid lubricant between the photosensitive layer and the polyethylene film. In addition to adhesive tape, methods for fixing the polyethylene film to the photoreceptor include stacking the ends of the polyethylene film with adhesive and fixing them together, or wrapping the outer circumference of the polyethylene film wrapped around the photoreceptor layer in a ring shape. It can be fixed with a belt, etc. Compared to a photoreceptor without a protection member, the photoreceptor having the protective member thus obtained can hold a portion of the photosensitive layer of the photoreceptor by hand via the polyethylene film and polyvinylidene fluoride, and furthermore, Since the powder protective member and the photosensitive layer are in close contact with each other and covered with a polyethylene film, the protective member does not peel off naturally from the photoreceptor, and the photoreceptor can be easily replaced and can be stored in an aO℃ environment for IQ days. After leaving it alone,
When evaluation was performed on 1000 consecutive images, it was possible to obtain high quality images. Further, when the protective cover J was peeled off from the photosensitive layer of the photosensitive drum in the electronic copying machine, the polyvinylidene fluoride of the protective powder did not scatter into the electronic copying machine but adhered to the lζ protective cover 3.

When the same operation as in Example 3 was performed except that a carbon black-containing polyethylene film (surface resistivity FI x 1010 Ω) was used instead of the polyethylene film as the protective cover 3, polyvinylidene fluoride was inside the electronic copying machine.
