A metal serving as a ground conductor 2 is deposited on both sides of a dielectric substrate 1, and a strip conductor 3 is arranged between these ground conductors to form a triplate-shaped strip line. The tip of the strip line is an open end, and slot lines 4 are formed on both sides of the ground conductor 2 on the 1/4 wavelength strip line side from that position, perpendicular to the strip conductor 3. One side of this slot line 4 is short-circuited to a length of 1/4 wavelength, and the line width on the other side is expanded stepwise to extend to the edge of the board. On the other hand, a waveguide shorting wall 6 that short-circuits one opening of the waveguide 5 is provided with a slit 7 into which a strip line in which the slot line 4 is formed as the ground conductor 2 is inserted, and the slot line 4 is connected to the ground conductor 2. A groove 9 is dug in the waveguide H surface 8 so that the waveguide H surface 8 and the waveguide H surface 8 have good contact with each other.

In a strip line with an open end, the strength of the magnetic field is maximum on the 1/4 wavelength strip line side from the open end, and smooth coupling is achieved with the slot line 4 formed on the ground conductor 2. .
One end of the slot line 4 is short-circuited to a length of 1/4 wavelength, and radio waves propagate only to the other end. here,
The ground conductor 2 on which the slot line 4 is arranged is the waveguide H
Since good electrical contact is maintained with surface 8,
The slot line 4 whose width has been expanded in stages forms a rigid waveguide 10, and the radio waves propagating through the slot line 4 are converted into a waveguide mode via this rigid waveguide 10.

In the conventional stripline waveguide converter described above, in order to configure the stripline waveguide 10, it is necessary to make contact between the ground conductor 2 of the stripline and the waveguide H surface 8, and the waveguide H surface Processing such as cutting a groove 9 in the waveguide 8 is required, leading to an increase in cost due to an increase in man-hours and a decrease in reliability due to poor contact between the ground conductor 2 and the waveguide H surface 8. There were flaws.

FIG. 3 shows an embodiment of the invention. A metal serving as a ground conductor 2 is deposited on both sides of a dielectric substrate 1, and a strip conductor 3 is arranged between these ground conductors 2 to form a triplate-shaped strip line. The tip of the strip line is an open end, and 1/4 from the open end
On both sides of the ground conductor 2 on the wavelength strip line side, a slot line 4 having a length approximately an integral multiple of 1/2 wavelength is formed so as to be perpendicular to the strip conductor 3. This strip line, in which the slot line 4 is formed on the ground conductor 2, is inserted through a slit provided in a waveguide short-circuit wall surface 6 where one opening of the waveguide 5 is short-circuited. At this time, the ground conductor 2 and the waveguide H surface 8 must be kept from contacting each other.

FIG. 4 is a diagram showing a strip line section for explaining the operation of this embodiment. For open-ended strip lines, 1/4 from the tip.
The magnetic field is at its maximum on the wavelength strip line side, and radio waves are strongly coupled to the 1/2 wavelength slot line 4 provided on the two surfaces of the ground conductor in this area. The magnetic field component of the radio wave coupled to the slot line 4 forms a loop as shown by the broken line in FIG.
It easily combines with the waveguide mode to form a stripline waveguide transducer.

In such a stripline waveguide converter, there is no need for contact between the ground conductor 2 of the stripline and the H surface of the waveguide, compared to conventional stripline waveguide converters that require contact. Since poor contact is not a problem, reliability is improved, and the number of processes is reduced, which has the effect of reducing costs.

Although the above description has been made for the case where the tip of the strip line is an open end, as shown in FIG. A similar effect can be obtained by configuring and using slot lines having a length that is an integral multiple of approximately 1/2 wavelength on both sides of the ground conductor 2 of the strip line in the vicinity of this short-circuit portion 11.
