Conventional examples are shown in FIGS. 4 to 6. The arc voltage, which affects the arc extinguishing performance, depends on the degree of arc extension and the degree of arc division, but FIG. The arc is extended and extinguished by the arc suction force of the grid 53. FIG. 5 shows a so-called electromagnetic drive extinguisher in which arc running plates 58 and 59 are connected to contact points 56 and 57 of a fixed contact 54 and a movable contact 55 arranged in parallel, and a grid 60 is arranged on the arc running plates 58 and 59. Since the arc type has contacts 54 and 55 facing in parallel, contact 5 is connected to the arc.
An electromagnetic driving force is applied by the current flowing through the arc 4.55, and this force causes the arc to move to the arc traveling plate 58, 59 and to the grid 60. Compared to the former, the bare arc immediately separates from the contact, so there is less damage to the contact, and the arc voltage is high and the arc extinguishing performance is excellent.

FIG. 6 shows a so-called two-point break contact structure, in which a movable contact 67 having a pair of movable contacts 65 and 66 separates from a fixed contact 63 and 64 provided on a pair of fixed contacts 61 and 62. The mutual electromagnetic repulsion of the pair of arcs generated between the contact points 63.65 and 64.degree. 66 causes the arc to elongate, guide it to the grid 68.69, and extinguish it. In this case, the arc is extended by mutual electromagnetic repulsion and the arc is divided into two parts, so the arc extinguishing performance is superior to the former two.

However, in these arc extinguishing devices, when the grid and arc traveling plate are excluded, the arc extension action is only one of the electromagnetic driving force due to the current flowing through the contactor and the electromagnetic repulsion force of the pair of arcs, and the arc extension action is higher. It was still not enough to obtain arc voltage.

The arc extinguishing device of the present invention includes a pair of contacts arranged in parallel and each having a contact that separates from the tip, and a central extension part of an arc that is arranged ahead of these contacts and is electromagnetically driven. an arc extension plate that divides the arc, and an arc extension plate that is arranged on both sides of the arc extension plate and the contact point parallel to the moving direction due to the electromagnetic repulsion of the pair of arcs divided by the arc extension plate, and that is arranged on both sides of the arc extension plate and the contact point to and a pair of arc gas circulation side plates forming an outer passage for circulation to the contact side. By arranging the pair of contacts in parallel, an electromagnetic driving force acts on the arc, and when the central extension part of the arc contacts the arc extension plate, the arcs are separated from each other by the mutual electromagnetic repulsion of the pair of arcs. At this time, the arc gas recirculation side plates equalize the gas pressure in the front and rear directions of the arc, eliminating resistance to arc progression due to negative pressure. Therefore, the arc is divided into two parts and is greatly elongated, thereby promoting arc extinguishment. If a grid or arc traveling plate is provided on this, the arc extinguishing performance will be further improved.

Embodiment A second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3. In the figure, circuit breaker and switch case 1
An arc extinguishing chamber 2 is formed at the bottom of the arc extinguishing chamber 2, and a fixed contact 3 and a movable contact 4 are arranged vertically and parallel to each other in the upper center of the arc extinguishing chamber 2, and a separation table is provided at the tip of the lower end of the arc extinguishing chamber 2. A fixed contact 5 and a movable contact 6 are provided. An arc extension plate 7 is installed on the bottom of the arc extinguishing chamber 2, and this arc extension plate 7 is located in front of the contacts 3 and 4 and is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the contacts 3 and 4 to open and close the movable contact 4. placed in a direction parallel to the direction.

This arc extension plate 7 also serves as an arc traveler, and upper arc travel plates 8.9 are arranged on both sides of the contactor 3.4 facing the arc extension plate 7, and the upper arc travel plate 9 on the right side is a fixed contact. Continuing with the child 3, the left upper arc running plate 8 is in operational contact and electrically connected to the child 4 (not shown). These upper arc traveling plates 8, 9, both contacts 3
.. A pair of arc gas recirculation side plates 11 are disposed near the contact points 5.6 of 4 and on both sides of the arc extension plate 7, that is, parallel to the traveling direction of the arc, and form an outer passage 11a on the outside of the arc gas recirculation side plates 11. The arc gas circulation side plate 11 is made of an arc-resistant insulator such as ceramic, and is located at the lower center of the inner side, that is, at the center of the arc extension plate 7, where the movable contact 4 separates from the fixed contact 3 when the contact is opened. A protrusion 12 is integrally formed on the bisector of the angle. Grids 13.14 are arranged on both sides of the arc gas circulation side plate 11, ie at the ends of the arc running plate 8.9 and the arc extension plate 7. 15 is an exhaust hole.

Now, assume that the movable contact 4 is opened due to a short-circuit trip operation or the like, and an arc A1 is generated between the contacts 5 and 6. Since the current path flowing through the contacts 3 and 4 through the arc A1 forms a U-shape, this arc A1 receives an electromagnetic driving force downward and extends like an arc A2, and the central extension part a of the arc A2 protrudes. It reaches 8 and becomes like arc A3.

The arc A3 is a pair of arcs A4., where current flows in opposite directions between the contacts 5, 6 and the protrusion 8. A5 is divided into two parts, and arc A4. Arc A due to mutual electromagnetic repulsion
, ,A, are arced away from each other A6. It moves on the arc extension plate 7 as shown in A7. Even if the arc continues without being extinguished, it will eventually be extinguished at grid 9.10. Further, the arc gas generated during the arc's elongation travels back through the outer passage 11a of the arc gas circulation side plate 11 as shown by the arrow in Fig. 2, returns to the contact 5.6 side, and wraps around to the rear side of the arc. Increase back pressure.

In this way, the arc can be extended by the electromagnetic driving force caused by the current flowing through the contacts 3 and 4 and the mutual electromagnetic repulsion between the arcs A, A5, and the arc can be divided into two. Arc-extinguishing performance is improved. In this case, the mutual electromagnetic repulsive force between the arcs is such that, in the case of the two-point cut structure shown in FIG. Since they are very close together, a stronger electromagnetic repulsion is obtained. Furthermore, arc gas circulation side plate 1
1 prevents a drop in gas pressure on the rear side of the arc and reduces the pressure difference between the arc gas before and after the arc, so it does not become a resistance to the arc.

またグリッド13.14により確実に消弧できる。Further, the grids 13 and 14 ensure arc extinguishment.

Note that the protrusions 12 are intended to facilitate arc division and increase the arc extension distance, but they do not need to be provided. Further, the protrusion 12 may be integrally formed with the arc extension plate 7. A running plate 8.9 and a grid 13.14 are also provided as necessary. Furthermore, the contact 3.4 can also be double-sided.
