Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a desired flat recording surface by one feed roller, by combining a feed roller, of which the roller part is intermittently lacked, with the platen blocks arranged to the lacked parts of the feed roller. CONSTITUTION:Platen blocks 6 are arranged to the roller lacked parts of a feed roller 1, that is, between roller parts 3, 3 adjacent to each other and assembled in predetermined positional relation not contacted with the feed roller 1. The guide surface 12 of each platen block 6 is formed as a flat surface or gentle curved surface continued to the contact surface of each roller part 3 and forms a flat or almost flat recording surface at the part of a printing head 9. After printing, paper 8 is discharged while guided to the direction shown by the arrow along the platen blocks 6 by utilizing the feed force of the feed roller 1.

As a structure for realizing these means, first, a platen roller (feed roller) with a round cross section is used. However, this platen roller serves both as a platen means and a paper feeding means, and although it is advantageous in that it has a simple structure, it is not possible to obtain a flat recording surface because the recording surface is formed on the peripheral surface of the roller. However, there is a problem in that it is difficult to ensure sufficient print quality.

FIG. 1 shows an exploded platen structure according to an embodiment,
A feed roller 1 for feeding paper is composed of a roller shaft 2 and an intermittently removed roller portion 3. Each roller portion 3 can be made of rubber with a predetermined hardness, and is fixed to a roller shaft 2, and is driven to rotate in the direction of the arrow by a gear 4 fixed to the end of the roller shaft by a motor or the like.

As shown in FIG. 3, each platen block 6 is located in the middle of the road, excluding the paper guide section of the roller section 3, and transfers the paper 8 sent by the feed roller 1 to the print area (facing the print head 9). It is configured to guide at the downstream side (the upper side in the drawing).

Therefore, the guide surface 12 of each grating block 6 is formed of a flat surface or a gently curved surface that is continuous with the contact surface of the roller section 3.
The print head 9 has a shape that provides a flat recording surface or a flat recording surface close to the y-plane.

Therefore, the paper 8 that has been sent along the circumferential surface of the feed roller 1 to the vicinity of the print head 9 is then moved in the direction of the arrow along the platen block 6 using the feeding force of the feed roller. It is ejected while being guided by.

According to the platen structure described above, by making the guide surface 12 of the platen block 6 flat, a desired flat recording surface can be easily obtained. In this way, 1
A flat recording surface can be formed freely by simply using the book feed roller 1, and compared to the conventional two-roller type, a platen structure with a flat recording surface that can be used for paper feeding is obtained in a smaller space and at a lower cost. be able to.

In addition, since only one feed roller 1 is used, the roller diameter can be designed to be large at the same time as saving one space. The bending radius of the paper 8 is increased, so even thick and stiff paper can be used. Paper can be fed smoothly and with high pitch accuracy.
