A card transport path is formed by disposing a distance rod and a collar between a pair of left and right outer frames that restrict the movement of the magnetic card in the left and right direction, and one inner surface of which forms a transport reference surface for the card. A magnetic head for reading information recorded in the recording section of the magnetic card, writing to the recording section, etc. is disposed in the inner frame, and the magnetic head has distance slots of different lengths.
