Conventionally, pile knitted fabrics having high elongation have been widely used not only for clothing applications but also for non-clothing applications. However, with conventional pile knitted fabrics,
When the knitted fabric is stretched, the pile loops deform, causing a phenomenon in which the ground structure is visible between the pile loops (ground cracking). This ground cracking is also a problem in pile knitted fabrics for clothing, but especially when the pile knitted fabric is used as fabric for forming vehicle interior materials, etc., the above-mentioned ground cracking may occur depending on the three-dimensional curved surface. This is a fatal defect that remains semi-permanently, and because of this defect, it is currently not widely used for vehicle interior materials.

The pile loops are formed over two or more consecutive back stitches, and the pile loops are alternately formed at positions shifted by one to several wales, or at completely random positions. This provides a high elongation pile knitted fabric characterized in that all the boundaries between the purl stitches are covered by the pile loops.

% or more. Knitted fabrics are naturally rich in stretchability and usually have high elongation, but in the present invention, it is particularly important to use highly oriented undrawn yarn as the ground weave yarn. In particular, those using highly oriented undrawn polyester yarns having excellent physical properties are preferably exemplified. Further, the highly oriented undrawn yarn can be used by itself, but it may also be used in combination with a high elongation yarn such as a crimped yarn or an elastic yarn such as spandex.

When forming the pile loops, it is possible to form the pile loops by alternately shifting one wale to several wales or by forming the pile loops completely randomly.

As shown in Fig. 3, in the conventional pile knitted fabric, pile loops b are formed in the rows of the back stitches a, so there are no pile loops at the back stitch boundary shown by arrow A, as shown in Fig. 3 b. As shown in Fig. 1B, when the knitted fabric is stretched, the back stitch boundary A creates a ground crack defect, but in the knitted fabric of the present invention, the back stitch boundary A is covered with pile loops, so that the stretch of the knitted fabric is prevented, as shown in Figure 1 B. Sometimes, the defects of ground cracks do not occur. In particular, this ground cracking is a serious problem when the knitted fabric is stretched by 50% or more, but this problem has been completely solved by the present invention.
