Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by starting power supply to a dial pulse controlling circuit only when a subscriber's key input or hook off is detected by a microcomputer and stopping power source supply after completion of control of the controlling circuit. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 3 is always in the state of operation. However, the power source of a dial pulse controlling circuit 2 is cut off. The microcomputer 3 detects hook off and detects that a telephone set is used. When a dial key is depressed by a keyboard, etc., the microcomputer 3 sends out an HS signal to the dial pulse controlling circuit 2. On receiving the HS signal, the power source is applied to the controlling circuit 2 and the circuit becomes the state of operation. After sending out of the dial pulse, the microcomputer 3 is informed of completion of sending out of the dial by disappearance of a mute signal, and makes the controlling circuit 2 to the state of non-operation.

As is well known, all the driving power for conventional telephones was supplied from the central office, but in the case of various telephone terminals that have been developed recently, the power supplied from the central office and the power provided inside the device are combined. There are many things that work. However, since the power supply installed in the device uses a dry battery or the like, it is particularly desired to reduce the load on the power supply.

When the caller presses a key or hooks off to make a call, the contacts of the hook switch 4 close, turning on the power to the dial pulse control circuit 2 and putting it into operation. When the subscriber presses the touch button, this information is displayed. Based on this, a predetermined dial signal is sent to the station.

As is clear from the above explanation, in the conventional power control system for telephone terminals, power is always turned on to the dial pulse control circuit when the subscriber is hooked off. It only operates once before the start of the process and does not operate thereafter. Therefore, there was a major drawback in that power was wasted unnecessarily.

A means for solving the problem is that in a telephone terminal whose dial pulse control circuit is controlled by a microcomputer, the power supply to the dial pulse control circuit is normally stopped, and the microcomputer controls the subscriber's key input or This is achieved by detecting F.7 off and starting the power supply to the dial pulse control circuit, and stopping the power supply to the dial pulse control circuit after the dial pulse control circuit completes the dial pulse control.

According to the present invention, the microcomputer detects the subscriber's key input or hook-off and starts supplying ta to the dial pulse control circuit, and then detects that the call state has entered and stops the power supply to the dial pulse control circuit. As a result, the effective power consumption of the dial pulse control circuit is significantly reduced.
