Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve beauty and to suppress the dazzle by dyeing the diamond cut and shell cut faces formed on a lens as well as the outside peripheral surface thereof with the color different from the color of the lens body or at the varied density. CONSTITUTION:The lens is subjected to the coating of an urethane, epoxy or other synthetic resin having hardness and the outside peripheral surface thereof is cut to conform to the shape of a frame. The outside peripheral pat of the lens or the pat near the outside periphery is subjected suitably to the cutting in a diagonal direction, i.e., diamond cutting and shell cutting in order to improve the design beauty. The lens formed in such a manner is then colored. The pat colored by such dyeing is only the cut faces of the lens and the coated lens face is not dyed. The central pat and cut faces of the lens are thus dyed to the different colors or the varied density colors, by which the beautiful lens is obtd.

Places where thermoplastic or thermosetting synthetic resins such as CR39 (conventional plastic lenses, acrylic, and polycarbonate) are used.Plastic lenses are light and easy to process and color, so they are used as regular prescription lenses. It is widely used as sunglasses and glasses. In order to make this plastic lens more innovative in terms of design, the front or back surface or both front and back surfaces of the peripheral edge of the lens may be subjected to grinding or cutting such as diamond cutting or shell cutting. When the peripheral edge of the lens is cut in a diagonal direction using a diamond cut or shell cut, the lens becomes shiny and beautiful due to the refraction of light. The disadvantage is that it reflects light and becomes dazzling.

The present invention aims to give this plastic lens a novel design by giving it a shell-cut or diamond-cut design, and also to create an even more beautiful design so that it does not become dazzling due to the reflection of light. Solution to the Problem] The present invention involves manufacturing a plastic lens of a desired shape using a synthetic resin using a conventional method, and then using a synthetic resin such as urethane or epoxy on the front or back surfaces of the lens for surface hardening. The lenses are then coated with a clear coat, and then cut into the outer shape of the glasses to suit the purpose, and cuts are made to create a beautiful design on the outer edge of the lens or near the outer edge, on the front or back, or on both sides of the lens. Next, this cut lens is colored as desired, but since the cut surface is clear-footed, it is not dyed, and only the cut surface is dyed.

First, an uncut type lens, that is, a plastic lens having a desired size is manufactured using a thermoplastic or thermosetting synthetic resin such as nylon, acrylic, Giricarbonate, or 0R39 by a conventional manufacturing method. This uncut lens can be used as sunglasses, 7-affinity lenses, or prescription lenses depending on its use. In this case, plastic lenses have the advantage of being lightweight, but have the disadvantage of having inferior surface hardness and being more susceptible to scratches than glass lenses.

Next, the outer circumferential surface of this hard footed plastic lens is cut to match the 7-frame shape, or to the required outer shape in the case of a frameless lens. At this time, in order to further enhance the beauty of the design, a diagonal cut, such as a diamond cut or a shell cut, is appropriately applied to the outer periphery of the lens or near the outer periphery. This cut is made on either the front side or the back side of the lens, or on both the front and back sides, and this is determined as appropriate depending on the design. Also, when cutting the outer circumferential surface of a lens to match the glasses, one or two grooves may be carved in the circumferential direction of the outer circumferential end surface of the lens, which has been formed into the desired shape. Diamond cut・
In some cases, only the shell cut surface, the outer peripheral surface and the diamond cut/shell cut surface are polished.

The lens thus formed is then colored by a desired dyeing method, which is carried out by a coating method or a dipping method in the same manner as the conventional coloring of plastic lenses. but,
The only part that is colored by this dyeing is the cut surface of the lens, and the coated lens crest 1 is not dyed, and as a result, the central part of the lens and the cut surface become different colors 1 or shades of light and shade. It can be a beautiful lens.

According to the present invention, the diamond-cut/shell-cut surface and the outer circumferential surface of the lens are dyed in a different color or shade than the lens body, so the shape is beautiful and the coloring also improves the aesthetic appearance. It has the advantage of being able to prevent the reflection of sunlight and reduce glare by coloring (dying).
