PURPOSE:To prevent chips or the like from advancing into a collet portion by coupling collet portions to each other with thin cylindrical portions, clamping both inner and outer surfaces of the collet portions with protective sleeves, and holding end surface seal materials contacting the thin cylindrical portions on the protective sleeves. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of collet portions 3 formed on a collet chuck 2 concentrically and axially projected to the front of the chuck body 1 are coupled to each other by thin cylindrical portions 10 having flexibility. Both inner and outer surfaces perpendicular to the expanding and contracting direction of the collet portions 3 are provided with protective sleeves 11a, 11b disposed in such a manner as to clamp both surfaces, and end surface seal materials 12 contacting the thin cylindrical portions 10 are held at the protective sleeves 11a, 11b. When an operation sleeve 4 is moved to the right by an operation lever 8, the collet portions 3 are reduced by taper fitting 14 to clamp a work W.
