Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve space efficiency and characteristics by constituting an upper arm from an I-arm and connecting a knuckle arm or a trailing arm onto the lower edge of a damper. CONSTITUTION:One edge of an upper arm 3 constituted of an I-arm is connected to the upper edge of a knuckle arm 1, and each edge of two lower arms 4 and 4 is connected to the lower edge of said knuckle arm 1. The front edge of a trailing arm 5 is connected to a chassis frame through a bush 6, and the rear edge is rotatably connected to the knuckle arm 1 through a bearing 7. A rubber bush 9 equipped with a pipe is installed in projecting form onto the lower part of the knuckle arm 1, and the lower edge of a hydraulic damper 10 is connected. With such constitution, the upper space of a rear suspension is occupied by the upper arm 3 and the damper 10 only, and the space efficiency is improved. Further, each torsion of the upper and lower arms is prevented, and characteristics can be improved.

On the other hand, numeral 5 in the figure is a trailing arm made of a plate spring or the like that has high rigidity in the vertical direction of the vehicle body and sufficient elasticity in the width direction of the vehicle body. It is connected to the vehicle body frame through a bearing 7 so as to be able to swing up and down, and its rear end is rotatably connected to the knuckle arm 1 through a bearing 7.
