Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the uniform end distribution and improve durability by forming a cloth through braiding, not through weaving, the warps arranged in parallel and the wefts which cross at a certain angle with the warps by means of thin knitting threads and using said braided cloth as chafer. CONSTITUTION:Wefts 3 are arranged so as to cross at an angle of 60-90 deg. with the warps 2 arranged in parallel, and said warps 2 and wefts 3 are braided in the longitudinal direction of the warps 2, and a braided cloth 1 is formed by means of the braiding thread 4 made of thin fibers. Thus, by using the ply made of braided cloth free from knitting as chafer, the uniform end distribution can be obtained, and durability can be improved.

In general, a chafer for a pneumatic tire employs a woven fabric in which tire cords, which mainly serve as reinforcing elements, are arranged as warp threads, and the weft threads, which are thinner than the warp threads, are loosely woven in a plain weave in order to maintain the spacing between the warp threads.

This plain woven fabric is woven by alternately opening the warp threads, driving the weft threads in with a shuttle, beating the warp, then reversing the upper and lower ends of the warp threads, and driving the weft threads in again. The woven plain fabric is then subjected to a depth treatment and a topping treatment to produce a braai, but there is a problem in that the fabric structure is easily disturbed during these steps (so-called misalignment). therefore,
The density of the textile structure cannot be coarsened beyond a certain level.

As a method to prevent fabrics from shifting, there is so-called karami-ori, which uses two or three warp threads to weave the weft threads from above and below, but this method has the drawbacks of a complicated weaving process, high cost, and poor productivity. . Therefore, in the present invention, it has been found that by using the silk cloth described below as a chafer, the movement of the warp threads during processing steps such as depping is suppressed, the uniformity of the end distribution is maintained, and the durability of the tire is improved. It is based on this.

In the present invention, the warp threads are arranged parallel to each other, and the weft threads are arranged so as to cross the warp threads at an angle of 60° to 90° without weaving, and these warp threads and weft threads are knitted with thin filament yarns. This is a pneumatic tire that uses a chafer made of ply made of knitted fabric.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a schematic view of the front side of a knitted fabric used for the chafer of the pneumatic tire of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a schematic view of the back side. In the figure, the knitted fabric (1) has warp threads (2) arranged parallel to each other, and weft threads (3) having the same thickness as the warp threads and intersecting the warp threads at a substantially right angle to the warp threads are arranged at the same density as the warp threads. These warp and weft yarns are knitted with fine fiber knitting yarn (4
), the warp and weft are integrated to form a knitted fabric. The knitting method here can be a conventionally widely used method such as warp stockinette knitting or horizontal stockinette knitting.

In addition, the weft yarn is preferably made of the same material and has the same thickness as the warp yarn, but there is no need to specifically select a material that suppresses the movement of the warp yarn, and there is no need to particularly select a material that suppresses the movement of the warp yarn. It must have sufficient strength not to be cut by the tension up to the rubberizing process; for example, the strength after adhesion is 100 g or more. Furthermore, long fibers, which are not often used in plain weave because the warp threads slip, can also be used in the present invention. Also, the weft is 80 to 140 thicker than the warp.

Next, the knitting yarn used in the present invention may be any material as long as it can sufficiently withstand general adhesive treatment and heat treatment conditions in the tire manufacturing process and can adhere to rubber after treatment, such as nylon-6, nylon-66, Filaments of organic fibers such as polyester and having a fiber diameter of 5 to 50 deniers are used. If the filament diameter is smaller than 5 deniers, the fixing strength between the warp and weft is not sufficient. On the other hand, if the filament diameter exceeds 50 deniers, the thickness of the knitted fabric increases, resulting in an increase in ply gauge, which is disadvantageous from the viewpoint of weight reduction. It is desirable that the arrangement density of the weft yarns is substantially the same as that of the warp yarns, and is usually 80 to 14.

The knitted fabric obtained as described above is subjected to conventional adhesive treatment and heat treatment, followed by topping rubber treatment to embed cords in the rubber to form plies. This ply is then cut at an angle of 20 DEG to 70 DEG to the warp to produce a chafer strip, which is applied to the bead portion when a cylindrical tire is assembled on a conventional forming drum.
