Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent surely dirt of a dustproof member by closing an aperture for exposure of a housing, in which an exposure device is stored, with the transparent dustproof member and providing a ventilating means near the latent image carrier side of the dustproof member. CONSTITUTION:When a cooling fan is operated, the air pressure in the closed housing is raised, and an elastic shield member 22 is opened by this pressure as shown by a chain line in figure, and wind is flowed out from an air hole 21. Flowed-out wind is flowed along the surface of a dustproof glass 11 in the direction of an arrow B and is discharged to the outside of a machine through an air path 18. A toner is flowed by this air to prevent dirt on the surface of the dustproof glass 11. A blast dusct 24 connected to a blast source is provided as the second ventilating means, and wind flowed out from an air hole 25 in the upper part of the casting of an electrostatic charger 15 is flowed to the air path 18 through the charger 15 in the direction of an arrow C to prevent the scattered toner from approaching the dustproof glass 11. Thus, dirt of the dustproof glass is prevented.

(As previously explained, in the electronic copying machine configured as above, toner etc. adhere to the dust-proof glass 11 and the image quality deteriorates. For this reason, a Teflon brush is installed between the exposure position A and the developing device 17. Although it is attempted to prevent toner from adhering by providing a toner scattering prevention member 19 made of the like, it is not reliable.

In FIGS. 1 and 2, the dustproof glass 11 provided in the housing 10 is inclined so that the left end is downward in the figure, and the right side of the dustproof glass 11 is located at an angle of approximately 90° with respect to the glass. A tilted portion 10;1 is formed on the housing 10. A ventilation hole 21 is formed in the inclined portion 10; 1, and the ventilation hole 21 is a long hole having approximately the same length in the longitudinal direction as the dustproof glass 11, or a continuous hole between the above lengths. It consists of multiple small holes. A shield member 22 is provided on the outside of the ventilation hole 21, that is, on the outer surface side of the housing 10, and the ventilation hole 2 is normally closed by the shield part A2. The shield portion 22 is made of a thin plate member having an elastic force such as a thin leaf spring or a polyester film, and one end thereof is fixed with a pin 23. Also,
The other end side of the shield part shrine 22 is leaning towards the free end,

The ventilation means 20 configured in this way has the cooling fan 120
The action allows ventilation. That is, cooling fan 1
2 is activated, the air pressure inside the sealed housing 10 increases, and this pressure causes the elastic thin plate shield member 22 to expand as shown by the chain line, opening the ventilation hole 2.
Wind flows out from 1. The flowed wind passes along the surface of the dustproof glass 110 as shown by arrow B, passes through the vicinity thereof, and is discharged to the outside of the machine through the air passage 18. Due to this ventilation, scattered toner, etc. can enter the exposed area, and the dustproof glass 1]
Even if the toner tries to stick to the dustproof glass 1, the toner will be washed away by the ventilation, and the surface of the dustproof glass 1 can be reliably prevented from becoming dirty. Moreover, since the ventilation means 20 skillfully utilizes the cooling fan 12, it can be provided at an extremely low cost.

An air duct 24 (not shown) communicating with an air source such as a fan is disposed above the charger 15.
A ventilation hole 25 is formed in the upper part of the casing. The air from this ventilation hole 25 flows through the charger 1 as shown by arrow C.
5 and flows to the ventilation passage 18. In this case, the wind contributes to uniformity of charging, and also serves to keep the scattered toner away from the dust-proof glass 11. Note that if the second ventilation means is a strong wind, the scattered toner will be brought closer to the dustproof glass 11, so it is desirable that the second ventilation means be a weak wind.
