A wheel cylinder body, a piston mounted on the body so as to be able to reciprocate, an adjuster nut rotatably inserted into the piston and having a ratchet wheel portion formed on its outer periphery, and a screw engaged with the adjuster nut. an adjuster bolt that reciprocates in the sliding direction of the piston as the nut rotates; a link that has one end fixed to the piston and the other end that extends in the axial direction of the body and that can reciprocate together with the piston; an adjuster lever which is rotatably mounted on the body and whose one end engages with the teeth of the ratchet wheel portion of the adjuster nut; and an adjuster which is set between the lever and the link and maintains an attractive force between the two. In an automatic shoe gap adjustment device, the adjuster lever has a spring, and the other end of the adjuster lever is in contact with an axially extending end of the link. An automatic shoe gap adjustment device characterized in that the shoe gap is extended and further extended in the direction of the surface of the backing plate, and a push-down portion is formed at the tip thereof.
