In a sliding door made by movably inserting a fitting into a guide groove formed in a fitting frame, a vertical stile that is part of the vertical frame of the fitting below the upper frame of the fitting and is located on the center side of the fitting frame when the fitting is closed. A locking piece is provided at the upper end of the indoor side of the stile so as to be movable up and down, and a guide rail is attached horizontally to the indoor side of the stile below this locking piece, and a part of it extends out to the side of the stile. While the slide piece is movably attached to the guide rail, the top surface of the slide piece is tilted downward along the direction from the side of the vertical stile toward the vertical stile, and is locked when the slide piece moves toward the vertical stile.
