Claims

A cylindrical casing is provided with a vane shaft whose axis line is aligned with the center line of the cylindrical casing, and a cylindrical rotor which surrounds the vane shaft and whose rotation center line is eccentric with respect to the center line. A plurality of vanes are respectively penetrated through a plurality of elongated holes provided in the peripheral wall of the rotor parallel to the rotation center line and at regular intervals, and the tip of each vane is slidable in the circumferential direction on the inner peripheral surface of the casing. A plurality of cylindrical bearing holders spaced apart and rotatably supported on the vane shaft via radial bearings are fixed to the base end of each vane, and each bearing holder is connected to a different vane. In a vane type air pump, the parts belonging to the vane are arranged so that they are adjacent to each other, and a sealing member is arranged on the inside surface of the elongated hole to press against both sides of the vane. A vane type air pump characterized in that a thrust washer spaced apart from the radial bearing is interposed between the holders.
