Claims

[Scope of utility model registration request]

A rectangular plate-shaped socket body made of an insulating material, contacts arranged along at least opposing side edges on one plate surface of the socket body, and an IC arranged on the socket body over the contacts. It consists of a cover that is removably attached to the socket body so that the package can be held against the socket body, and U-shaped mounting grooves that are continuous over the top, side and bottom surfaces of the socket body, corresponding to each of the contacts. A U-shaped contact is arranged in each of these U-shaped mounting grooves, and a plurality of small protrusions are integrally formed on the side edge of each contact. A contact portion is press-fitted into the mounting groove, and the contact portion is held in the socket body.
