The quality of supplementary material heads varied due to dimensional changes and non-uniformity of the material. Therefore, WPC (Wood-plastj-
Ccombinations) heads and carbon fiber reinforced plastic (hereinafter abbreviated as C]-I''J-<P) heads are well known.

Like the head, a large cavity 2 is provided in the center of the sole side of the head 1, and a core material 3 made of foamed synthetic resin is provided in the cavity.
Some forms of intervening are known.

However, most of these hollow parts focus on reducing the weight of the head, and the strength of the head, how to attach the face insert, the position of the center of gravity of the head, and weight distribution are secondary considerations. Ta. Therefore, it had the following drawbacks.

There was a fear that it would happen. Furthermore, when a head with a large cavity is used with a separate face insert, the thickness of the face of the head itself decreases, resulting in a decrease in strength and a decrease in the coefficient of repulsion of the ball. This resulted in a decrease in the flight distance ratio (1) of the ball, as well as a duller hitting sound and poor feel. Also, the center of gravity of the head was not constant, and as a result, when hitting 11 balls, The launch angle of the ball is higher,
It had disadvantages such as being low. In addition, due to the weight distribution being closer to the heel of the head or closer to the toe of the head, new drawbacks tend to occur, such as the ball being sliced or hooked more easily when the ball is hit. As described above, conventional WPC heads and CFRP heads have drawbacks such as poor durability and feel, and unstable ball launch angle and directionality. Furthermore, since a large cavity is formed in order to reduce weight, the design range of the head itself is restricted.

。In view of these conventional drawbacks, the present invention aims to improve the durability of WPC heads, FRP heads, and wood heads of the same type, which have a large hollow part in the center of the sole side of the head body, and to improve the feel of the head. This was done to improve the head's center of gravity and weight distribution, improve the launch angle and direction of the ball when it is hit, and increase the degree of freedom in head design. be.

ある。One embodiment of the present invention will be described based on the drawings. As shown in FIGS. 4 to 5, a cavity 5 of an arbitrary shape is formed from the center of the sole side of the head 4, and the cavity 5 and A concave reinforcing portion 7 that continuously forms a notch 6 for attaching the 7 Ace insert I/component on the face surface, and fits into the cavity 5 and the notch 6 for attaching the face insert member.
This wood head for a golf club is characterized in that a head reinforcing part stand formed by integrally molding a face insert part 8 and a face insert part 8 is attached and integrated, and is completed by fixing a sole plate 12.

Since the member 9 is attached, the hollow part 5 is reinforced from the inside, and the face part has a thicker wall thickness and is integrated with the concave reinforcing part 7, so the strength and coefficient of restitution of the head are significantly improved. However, even if the ball is hit repeatedly, there is no risk of cracks or breakage on the face surface as in the conventional case, and durability is significantly improved. Furthermore, since the coefficient of restitution is improved, the flight distance of the ball is increased, the hitting sound is pleasant, and the feeling is also improved. Other embodiments of the head reinforcing member 9 of the present invention, as shown in Figs. If you store a weight in the weight adjustment weight storage section located at the rear of the head, the center of gravity will be at a lower position behind the head, the ball will launch at a higher angle, and the moment of inertia of the head will increase, making it a little sweeter. Even if the ball is hit off the spot, there is no fear that the flight direction of the ball will be adversely affected, and the feeling when hitting the ball is also good. By storing weights in the weight adjustment weight storage sections 10 corresponding to the toe and heel sides of the head, the swing balance of the head is improved, the ball is less likely to hook or slice, and the directionality is improved. This results in effects such as improved performance.

It is also possible to change the center of gravity position and weight distribution by changing the thickness and width. Further, as shown in FIG. 11, it is also possible to form the face insert portion 8 of the head reinforcing member 9 into a shape substantially equal to the face surface. In this case, even if the ball is hit with the right part of the face, the flight distance will not decrease much. Furthermore, even when hitting a ball against a hard two-piece pole, the face surface does not become uneven. Note that since the shape of the face insert portion is approximately the same as the face surface, it cannot be installed from the sole side as in the other embodiments, but is inserted and fitted from the face surface.

Therefore, the degree of freedom in design is improved.

Fiber-reinforced plastics (RP) made of carbon fiber, glass fiber, and other reinforcing fibers, aluminum alloys and other light alloys, fiber-reinforced metals (FRM), 211 ceramics, and fiber-reinforced thermoplastics (FR)
Materials such as TP) are appropriately selected and used. In particular, when carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) is used, in addition to the above effects, vibration damping properties are also good.
Furthermore, in addition to the effect of improving the feel when hitting the ball, the weight of the head reinforcing member itself can be reduced, further increasing the degree of freedom in head design.
