Abstract

PURPOSE:To prolong rolls and bearings in life by switching the contacting state of a heat roll and a pressure roll between a warm-up and fixation stand-by state time and a fixation time. ャーロール6の軸7との中間の適所にはカムフォロワー
11を設け、該カムフォロワ−11の下部には前記軸受
フレーム8とは別個に軸12を用いてカム13を回転可
能に配置し、該カム13の外周で前記カムフォロワー1
1を押圧することにより前記軸受フレーム8を、軸9を
支点とし、1張スプリング100弾性に抗して回動させ
、これによりヒートルール5に対しプレッシャーロール
6の接触状態をウオームアツプ及びスタンバイ状態時に
は第2図に示すように弱く、又定着時には第3図に示す
ように強く接触するようにする。そして、このカム13
の動作の手段としては図示を省略した感光体の転写部か
ら機外の排出トレイにかけて設けた用紙の搬送路中に用
紙の先端等を検知するセンサーを配置し、該センサーに
よって検知した信号によって適当なコントローラーを介
し、前記カム13の軸12を間欠的に回転させることに
よって行なえば良い。
