Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate easy assembling together with the reduction in size of magnetic tape device by detecting the loading and unloading stop positions of a holding member for cassette just with a single detection switch and therefore eliminating the actuation timing control of both the switch and a driving means after assemling. CONSTITUTION:When a cassette is loaded, a motor 6 starts its revolutions to revolve a driving wheel 9 clockwise and a rotary center shaft 39 moves down along the vertical part of a hook groove 40. Thus a cassette is moved down in a body with shift members 34 and 35 and then loaded to a prescribed position. Then a reel driving disk is fitted to a reel set in the cassette. The conduction part formed on a substrate 21 is changed to an ON state from an OFF state, and the revolution of the motor 6 is stopped by a microcomputer. Thus a cassette loading procedure is through.
