Abstract

PURPOSE:To store a large quantity of documents unconsciously of the order of the documents or their upside-down condition, etc., by recognizing characters in a prescribed area of a displayed document as a page number and recording the document in order of the page number. CONSTITUTION:An image output read by an image reader 1 is displayed on a CRT2 in accordance with the control of a CPU5 and, at the same time, recorded on an optical disk 6 which is a recording medium through an RAM3. Under this conditon, the first document of a series of documents recorded on the optical disk 6 is displayed on the CRT2 and an area of the document where a page number is written is designated by an operator through a pointing device 4. Then the CPU5 recognizes the area as a character recognizing area and performs further document reading work by recognizing the character written in the area as the page number. When no character is recognized, the CPU5 interprets that the document is read under an upside-down condition and recognizes the page number by recognizing an area which is point-symmetrical to the area as the character recognizing area.

[Prior Art] Conventionally, such a document processing device includes an image reading means such as an image league, a high-resolution bitmap CRT for displaying a document read by the image league, and further recording the read document on an optical disk or the like. A recording medium and a light pen, digitizer, etc. that can indicate the coordinates on the document CRT are provided, and the operator reads the document using the image league and transfers it to the CRT-J-
At the same time, the images were displayed on the screen and sequentially written to the optical disk.

In this case, if there are a large number of documents, the operator usually rearranges the documents to be recorded according to the page number -lIMi &, or if the documents are upside down, rearranges them and reads the documents on an optical disc etc. I had it memorized. Therefore, when storing such a large amount of documents, there is a drawback that the operator's negative 4B is extremely large.

[Purpose] Therefore, the present invention has been made in order to eliminate such conventional drawbacks, and provides a document in which a large amount of documents can be easily memorized without the operator being aware of the order of sentences 11X, etc. The purpose is to provide processing equipment.

Further, reference numeral 4 is a pointing device such as a light pen or a digitizer that can indicate the coordinate position on the CRTZ. The image output read by the image reader 1 is displayed on the CRT 2 under the control of the CPU (Central Processing Unit) 5.
The data is recorded on the optical disc 6, which is a recording medium, via the AM3.

The first document of a series of documents to be recorded is read by the image reader 1, and the image information is read by the image reader 1 under the control of the CPU 5.
It is expanded to AM3 and displayed on high-resolution CRTZ. In the following step S2, the operator uses the pointing device 4 to indicate the area where the page number is written in the document displayed on the CRT. The CPU 5 recognizes this area as a character recognition area, and uses the characters in this area as a page number. In the following step S3, the CPU
Step 5 determines whether all documents to be recorded have been read. This determination is to determine that reading has ended if the document is not read by the image reader I for a certain period of time or more.

When the reading is completed, control moves to step $6, and when a new document is read, control moves to step S4. Step S4
Then, the CPU 5 inputs the bit information of the newly read document into R.
At the same time as AM3, the character in the character recognition area specified in step S2 is identified and set as the character page number.

When the process is finished, the above-mentioned completion determination is made in step S3. If reading of all documents is completed and 1% is reached, the page numbers are rearranged in ascending order based on the above-mentioned correspondence table and stored in the management area of the optical disc in step S6.

[Effect] As explained above, according to the present invention, a predetermined area of a document displayed on a display device such as a CRT is designated as a character recognition area, and characters within this area are recognized as page numbers. Since the documents can be recorded in the order of page numbers, the operator can memorize a large amount of documents without having to be aware of the order or upside down of the documents, reducing the burden on the operator and reducing the number of documents. It can be memorized over time.
