Claims

A moving unit that supports an electrostatic recording medium and moves along a conveyance path with a linear cam fixed to the lower side surface, and a developing roller that rotates at the opening of a bottomed cylindrical developer container that stores developer. The developing roller is rotatably mounted with a part of its outer circumferential surface protruding along the axis, and the developing roller is swingable so that the axis of the developing roller is substantially perpendicular to the movement direction of the moving unit so that the developing roller comes into contact with and separates from the electrostatic recording medium. A lever is selected, which includes a plurality of developing units that are pivotally supported by a lever, one end of which is engaged with the developer container so as to be able to swing across the locus of movement of the linear cam, and which rotates the developing unit by pressing down on one end of the lever. The lever is positioned on the movement trajectory of the linear cam by the electromagnet, and the lever is pushed down by the linear cam moved by the moving unit to rotate the developing unit. 1.
