Conventionally, such systems have been monitored only by displaying the operating status of channels connecting processing units and input/output devices using meters, etc. for each processing unit, but it has not been possible to accurately grasp the operating status of the entire system. However, there are disadvantages in that it is not possible to mutually monitor the operating status of channels between processing units. The present invention eliminates the above-mentioned drawbacks, and in order to efficiently use channels and smooth the operation of the entire system, the present invention displays the operating status of a channel in combination with the configuration status of the entire system, and An object of the present invention is to provide a system monitoring device capable of transmitting operating status to other processing devices.

In the figure, 100 is a monitoring device, which includes a channel operating state information receiving section 1, a channel operating state information editing section 2, a connection state information receiving section 3, a connection state information editing section 4, and a display information transmitting section 5.
, a display section 6, a channel operation information transmitting section 7, and the like. Information representing the operating state of the channel connecting the processing device and the input/output device (channel operating information) is created and transferred independently by each processing device or collectively by the service processor, and then sent to the channel operating state information receiving unit one after another. 1 is received.

This received channel operating state information is taken into the editing section 2 and edited for each processing device and channel.
The information is sent to the display information transmitting section 5 and the channel operation information transmitting section 7. The channel operation information transmitter 7 transmits all information including channel operation states of other processing apparatuses to each of the plurality of processing apparatuses. On the other hand, information representing the connection state with the processing device arrives from each input/output device, and is received by the connection state information receiving section 3. This subsequent status information is stored in the editorial department 4.
It is compiled into configuration information indicating which input/output devices are connected to which processing devices via channels. The display information is sent to the display information transmitting section 5. The display information transmitting section 5 converts the channel operation information and configuration information sent from the editing sections 2 and 4 into display signals and transmits them to the display section 6. Display section 6
Now, for each processing device, the operating state of the channel and the configuration state of the input/output device connected to the corresponding channel are displayed in pairs. FIG. 2 shows an example of the display on the display unit 6, showing each channel CHA-1 to CHA-C of two processing units CPU-A and CPU-B.
It shows that the input/output devices connected to the HA-4 are displayed and the operating status of each channel is displayed as a percentage. Referring to FIG. 2, for example, a disk control device 1 (DKC-1) is connected to a channel (CHA-1) of a processing device (CPU-A), and this DKCI
A plurality of disk storage units (DKU) are connected to the channel 2 (CHA-2), and a disk control unit 2 (DKU-2) of the same type is connected to the channel 2 (CHA-2).
A plurality of disk storage units (DKU) of the same type are also connected to 2.

At this time, the operating rate of CHA-1 and the current DKCI
Assume that the number of the DKU connected to CHA-2, the operating rate of CHA-2, and the number of the DKU currently connected to DKC2 are displayed on the display unit 6 of the monitoring device. In this case, since the utilization rate of CHA-1 is low and the utilization rate of CHA-2 is high, the system administrator has to balance the channel utilization rate by
By disconnecting a part of the KU and reconnecting it to the CHA-1, the average operation rate of the CHA-1 and CHA-2 can be increased. Also, C skin-1 and CHA-
When the operating rates of 2 are both low, such as below 25%,
For example, it is also possible to stop using CHA-2 and connect DKC-2 and the DKU connected to it to CHA-1 for consolidation. As is clear from the above explanation,
According to the present invention, the operating status of multiple channels of multiple processing devices can be displayed together with the configuration status of input/output devices connected to the channels, and the operating status and configuration status of the channels of the entire system can be displayed. It can be understood at a glance, and has the effect of making it easy to understand and change the operating status of the system.

Further, since the channel operating state of a processing device can be known by other processing devices, there is an effect that the channel operating state can be mutually monitored between processing devices.
