Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize a compact and lightweight device which is improved in adhesive properties and resistance to vibration and can reduce noises even when the wire is broken on the midway, by winding a bare linear conductive member on the inner or outer periphery of a pickup coil. CONSTITUTION:In a signal generating device for internal combustion engines generating signals for igniting an ignition device for internal combustion engines, a pickup 1 consists of a bobbin 4 with pickup coils 2 of enameled copper wire winding wound thereon; 200-300 turns of bare copper wire 3 having high conductivity and random- or close- wound over the pickup coils 2; and resin 5 for hardening the whole body. Further, the both ends of the copper wire 3 are treated with an adhesive. Even if the breaking of the wire occurs the copper wire 3 remains effective since the adjacent parts of the broken points of the wire are bare and contact is kept with each other. Leakage of magnetic flux from an electromagnetic device outside of a distributor case 10 generates an eddy current flow in the copper wire 3, and by this eddy current, magnetic flux in the opposite direction to the leaked magnetic flux is generated so that the leakage of magnetic flux can be cancelled. Thus, it is enabled to realize a compact and lightweight device which has improved adhesive properties and resistance to vibrations and can reduce noises even when the wire is broken on its midway.
