Abstract

PURPOSE:To contrive to reduce noise and to reduce the leakage of noise to the exterior of a printer, by a construction wherein a sound-absorbing roller and a press roller for a paper being passed are so provided as to seal off an opening part of a sound-insulating cover, in a printer comprising a sound-insulating cover. CONSTITUTION:To abbsorb vibrations of a paper 5, the sound-absorbing roller 12 is provided in an absorbing member 2. To stop the vibration of the paper 5, a press roller 13 is provided in the interior of the sound-insulating cover 4, and a press roller 14 is provided at the position of the cover 3. Pulleys 15, 16 are connected to each other by a belt 17 so that the roller 12 is rotated in synchronism with a platen 1 and no undue force or no sag is generated in the paper 5. Accordingly, noise generated by vibrations of the paper 5 can be reduced, and an inserting port 10 and a discharging port 11 for the paper 5 are stopped up, so that the noise generated in the printer is prevented from leaking out to the exterior of the printer.
