PURPOSE:To hold a fiber body effectively and reliably, by a method wherein, in a burner which performs combustion through catalyst reaction of platinum, paradium, etc., a number of projections are formed on the both sides of a porous plate which holds a heat insulating material of a fiber body and uniformizes the flow of gas. CONSTITUTION:Gas flowing through a gas inlet 1 is burnt at a heating burner 8 and a catalyst burner 9. A porous plate 11 for uniformizing the flow of gas is made of, for example, a rolled lath and is formed with a number of projections on both sides thereof. This causes a heat insulating material 10 to increase adhesion properties among the catalyst burner 9, a wire net 13, and the porous plate 11, and enables the heat insulating material to be secured thereto without using other means.
